Shall we have a debate!

Carbs are bad for you?

Meat and diary is bad for you?

Supplements like omega 3 are pointless?

Vegan is what we should be doing?

Putting you’re body into ketosis is making you ill?

Reducing my carbs and eating Keto (therefore in ketosis) has made me feel healthier than I ever have to be honest

Omega 3 curb stiffness and joint pain. Omega-3 supplements also seem to boost the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory drugs. So I wouldn’t say pointless especially if you work out in the gym often and stuffer from joint pain.

everything is bad for you if you eat too much of it. moderation is what works for me and calorie counting embodies that. I couldn't fathom leaving out food groups, I don't think I'd be able to stick to that.

Sorry guys I’ve been watching all the food programmes on Netflix lol So me and my girlfriend are gonna start juicing fruit and veg twice daily will a healthy tea from now on, then maybe go vegan in the long term, I know everything is bad for you but this does seem to be the long term healthier option x

As for vegans then yeah that’s bad for because if I had go without meat and fish that would kill me alone!

Going vegan especially eating only native fruit and vegetables will be the best option for loosing weight and healing the body. I stopped eating meat, basically no animal products at all. I am passionate about bodybuilding and fitness in general. So this change was a big one for me. Especially with everyone saying you need meat for protein! Ever heard of anyone who got a serious illness from eating only fruit and vegetables? Would you say that about eating animal products? That’s all from me 😂😂.

My girlfriend doesn’t want to be vegan so I think I will beat her to it lol, allen14 they say that all diseases pretty much come from eating dairy and meat so it was a hard but very good choice from you, I also am very much into fitness and believe high protein was the way to go until of 8pm last night when it said that high protein low carb was basically just the Atkins diet with around 8 different names, clogs arteries and I for one don’t want erectile disfuction 🤣🤣🤣 I just wanna be here for a long time and I want to live the happiest life I can, I know some ppl say eat and drink what you want but I think we should look after ourselves inside and out 💪🏻

It’s a hard choice to make especially if we have been eating a certain way practically all our life. It was a struggle for the first 4weeks. It gets easier. A lot easy to prepare meals. Yeah about the erectile 😂😂 wait till you hit 40’s and still eating tonnes of meat 😂😂😂 lets just say your reptile 🦎 won’t want to play 🤣🤣🤣. Seriously when you start to see the changes every week, you won’t want to go backwards. Whatever you do make sure it’s for the long term. You have to remember we didn’t get to where we are overnight so it’s going to be a lifestyle change. The first step to gaining control over weight loss is cleansing the colon.

Just another one to throw into the mix - have you read about your gut flora and how the ratios of different bacteria can affect your ability to lose (or gain) weight and your general health. Michael Moseley's book called something like "Clever Guts Diet" is interesting (not so much the cleverguts website). Many things suggested to improve your gut flora tend towards a plant based diet. Out of interest, are you just eating as vegans or living the whole ethos? Avoiding all animal products in every day life? I'm not asking to judge as many would, just wondering if it's only the diet you've adopted.

There is so much information out there and so many conflicting opinions. You just gotta find what works for you. I was a meat eater, then for six years I switched between vegan and vegetarian and as of a month or so ago I am eating meat again. Have gone keto and its amazing for me. Some food documentaries will have been funded by companies to boost their sales and hinder other companies. Be careful with just fruit juices as it’s just a massive sugar dump without the fibre and flesh of the fruit.

I believe Keto is basically the Atkins and Dukan diets. I dont know whether this is true but someone told me Atkins died of a heart attach caused by clogged arteries. My friend went vegan and after about 6 months she has so many health issues she went to a holistic doctor who told her she had developed an autoimmune disease due to lack of nutrients in her vegan diet and he told her to eat meat and dairy. Its difficult to know what to do for the best one day is dont eat this and that and next day oh those food are ok. All I know is since the onset of the low fat diet the nation is a whole lot fatter. Just saying

fact is no body can really say or pinpoint what causes disease I have read many articles and theories on what causes many cancers and what we should and shouldn’t eat you can’t turn on the TV without some scientific theories telling us eating lots fruit is good for us then few years down the line the question come up is it? Theories are just that basically that Ideas no real proof to support them , maybe it’s nothing to do with the meats, dairy etc.. and just down to the chemicals that are use to lets say make the meat bigger, leaner or the vegetables grow faster and to prolong shelf life we know vegetables are good for you we don’t need telling they always have been personally I don’t think it’s the foods, I’ll worked in so many different areas with my line of work and I’ve seen what is put onto crops and other stuff we eat just to increase shelf live and so on but how far do we go, dig up the back garden and grow our own you got to live your life even if you live to 101 it’s still short. I have always looked after myself all my life by looking after my body, keeping fit & fine grooming I have never let myself get about 1st over weight, I’ve never had erectile disfunction 😂 I’m 49 years of age ask any doctor and he will tell you that’s normally brought on by stress. All diets come down to the basic principles which ever one you follow and that’s health it’s just finding out which one works for the individual.

Its so confusing isn't it.. I studied with the OU in Health Studies and research showed that as a nation the English were most healthy during the war years. Due to not overeating, eating their own garden vegetables walking or riding a cycle everywhere and basically not having a sedentary lifestyle.

Hi Slimvivinne, I can side with what you say about the health studies to me it makes perfect sense that’s what I tried to highlight with what I meant about chemicals used on foods, During the war all foods were rationed so people grow their own no chemicals or fertilisers, I grow up in a small mining village in Yorkshire in the early 70’s where most of our vegetables came from Allotments, butchers and little local shop things even then were not as easy as now I never heard of a pizza or even seen a supermarket, all I ever seen my grandma put on her vegetables was old tea bag leafs and she lived to a good age without any serious illness’s just old age complaints, Back then I never heard of anybody passing away from cancer it was rare, apart from the men with normally lung related diseases but nearly every male worked in the pits and smoked un filled cigarettes but most the females lived and passed away from old age. Meat and two veg that’s what my gran always said

You gotta do what’s right for you. Sometimes, whatever diet you can stick to and will help you feel better and become healthy, is the right diet to be on. There are down sides to every woe
