Steamed fresh asparagus wrapped with prosciutto prepped and ready to be brushed with butter and grilled for dinner with grilled chicken thighs. Serve as is or with additional butter and lemon. Crumbled egg is also a nice garnish for these. (If they turn out ok, I’ll post another photo later...)

Oh that looks neat. When I'm able to do the shopping myself, and well, able to do more stand up prep and cooking, I'm going to get some asparagus and try this. I haven't had any since i was a child and both times i did it was from a can and part of a casserole i made.

I had to look up prosciutto. I didn’t know what it was. Looks like it will be really good. I 💜❤️❤️ Love asparagus.

We did this with a balsamic glaze drizzled on them - two of my favorite foods.

I've never had balsamic vinegar. What does it taste like please? I've also never had prosciutto. I thought that was bacon wrapped around the asparagus.

Prosciutto is a type of ham. The BEST kind is called Parma ham and comes only from Parma, Italy. Prosciutto is sweet and earthy, always sliced paper thin. It’s delicious in a salad also or with poached pears. Not salty, an excellent choice for Chicken Cordon Bleu. Balsamic vinegar comes in dark red or white. It is sweet, with a softer finish than any standard vinegar. A must over a Caprese Salad of tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil. As for asparagus, we’re approaching the end of fresh asparagus season, which runs February to June with the peak in April. Asparagus is one of those vegetables that does not translate well over to frozen or canned. No comparison to steamed fresh.

Balsamic vinegar is a wonder alternative in salad dressings, etc.! Years ago, a deli in my NYC neighborhood made "Caprese" with fresh mozzarella, basil leaves, and roasted sweet red pepper marinated in balsalmic viniagrette. Soooo goood! I prefer using the peper to tomatoes, and that may lower the carb count a bit, too.

Roasted peppers sounds delicious. Being here at the Jersey Shore, we wait for Jersey tomato season in July-September. 🍅

The only vinegar I've ever tasted is white vinegar.

Time to up your (vinegar) game! There are SO many different kinds besides ones that are FLAVORED! Cider vinegar for coleslaw, balsamic vinegar for soups, stews, red sauce or glazes, red wine vinegar for salads. Go vinegar CRAZY!
