similes's Journal, 20 May 2018

Back to nearly my weight of three weeks ago! This week I managed my diet, and got in three days of my work bicycle commute, plus walking to and from the bus, but not much exercise beyond that. Yesterday I had my first aural onset for a migraine in more than a year. Good news, I was on my way home from work on my bicycle on a dedicated bike path (and then quiet neighborhood streets), so the narrowing of my vision wasn’t as dangerous as it could have been, and I was home in time to take a med within 40 minutes of when I first noticed the symptom (aka had my sight of the road impeded), and it never escalated to the pain phase, though there is some nausea lingering even still.
At least with aura’s I know what it is and can take measures ASAP. Unfortunately I am so stressed that the supplement I take daily to prevent migraines (and that has been working amazingly for more than a year now! Only occasional migraines and not multiples a month) isn’t able to prevent them at a recent higher frequency.
Mid June I should be returning to a more normal (less stressful) schedule, with the hope that I can get back to exercise instead of pain management. As it is I haven’t slept my usual seven hours for over a month, with even today, Sunday, a day I planned to try to sleep in, affording me less than 5 hours of sleep due to discomfort. I am meditating more frequently to provide alternative opportunities for deep rest.

Congrats on the drop! I just recently lost what I had gained in a spike and I can't help looking at my chart wondering what it would have been like today without that spike haha

-adefwebserver- Well, as my case illustrates, that spike can be easier to reverse than the initial incremental change. I hope it works that way for you, too.
