Ahh Monday!!
I dont get much of a chance to update my FS journal on the weekends, so I will get everyone up to speed on my bike situation and everything.
I talked with my husband and explained to him that we pay rent, and we bought that equipment and I didnt want it in her room. I told him that I wouldnt feel comfortable working out with her in there, and I would feel rude going into her room without her in there. That I was losing no matter what and that wasnt fair to me. He understood and told me that we would keep it in the breezeway and even move the elliptical up there so I could use that as well. My husband has his downfalls, but I know that he loves and supports me. I really needed to see that with this situation.
Saturday we attended a funeral for my uncle's wife. It was an outdoor, graveside funeral and we live in Northwest Arkansas, so it was spitting sleet while we were out there. It was miserable. I wasnt very close to her, but she was kind woman and it broke my heart to see my uncle cry like that.
Afterwards, we went to my uncles house for the wake. There was KFC and a Mexican restaurant catered because her daughter worked there and so they brought in fajita meat and chips, salsas, guacamole, sour cream, all the fixings for taco salads and things. My aunt, who knows how carefully I have to eat, watched my like a hawk. At one point I was getting my husband some corn and mashed potatoes and she yelled across the room "Hey, you cant eat that!" It was ALMOST embarrassing. My family tried to find joy in all things, so we laugh a lot at funerals and hospitals. Most people dont understand it, but we have had really rough patches, so you have to try to find happiness where you can. We all laughed, as I tried to explain it was for him and not me!
The hardest part, aside from the obvious, was there was a dessert table that was covered in sweets. There were cookies, cakes, cheesecakes, muffins, cinnamon rolls and all sorts of yummy forbidden treats. It was hard to walk past that, carrying a plate of broccoli florets, but when the fajitas arrived, I was fine. It was nice to be able to actually eat and enjoy their company without worrying about carb count and what I could and couldnt eat.
A little NS victory, my uncle, who hadnt seen me in about 4 months gave me a hug and then said "You look amazing, you have lost weight!" It was nice to hear from someone who doesnt see me very often and doesnt follow my facebook so he had no idea I had started this journey was able to see that my hard work is paying off. He also said "10 or 10,000 lbs you are beautiful, but you look great" which meant a lot to me. Outside of the sad situation, it was a good day.
Sunday we were iced in, the roads were frozen, so we cleaned up our room and got some stuff listed on Ebay. I am trying to save up to go to Six Flags in San Antonio Texas next year, because I feel like it will be a nice treat to myself for working hard all year and maybe I will be thin enough to fit on the roller coasters. (Little plug there for my ebay account, if anyone wants to check it out and buy something, seller name is Gambit_13x). It was nice to be able to just spend the day with my hubby and not be rushing out somewhere or off to run errands.
This morning my car was frozen solid, it took almost 30 minutes to get it defrosted enough to even scrape the windows. It was so darn cold!! We are supposed to have a nice week, though. Looking forward to a little warm up. I cannot wait until spring!! I grew up in Cali, this Arkansas weather is for the birds!!!
Have a great day everyone!!
