Sandy701's Journal, 18 May 2012

Busy morning with a church activity first, then off to the grocery store, then the gym, a consignment shop and finally, yet another store. Did not do any exercise walking, but did over a half hour on an elliptical.

I'm scoping out some consignment places to see if I'd want them to handle the sale of a few items in my closet. Some things get donated, some may end up on eBay and perhaps a few others will go to a consignment shop. I'm trying to determine who handles what items the best, make some decisions, and finally begin to move the last of it all. The stuff to donate was the easiest, but selling or consigning takes more effort and some research, but it's what I want to do for some of the nicer stuff. Of course there's always the garage sale alternative, but DH has sworn he'll never do another one of those (too much time and effort for too little reward, he says...also doesn't like the "kick the tires" mentality).

Yesterday I ate above my calories target so my weight was up slightly this AM. No worries...everything's back in line and I don't regret having some sunflower kernels last night as a munchie treat.

Today's meals are off-schedule....breakfast was a GREAT-tasting Atkins bar on the way out the door. My usual breakfast was "lunch" at 2PM and then we'll see when dinner will be. No salad as my dinner today, because we're having shrimp and green beans.

As for Pre-Maintenance, I don't plan on doing it by the book at this point. Mostly, I just wanted to change the designation from OWL to Pre-M as a kind of reward for myself for getting close to goal. I think the Atkins book talks about going to Pre-M at about 10 pounds to goal, but another book co-authored by the Atkins nutritionist, had a slightly different agenda based on BMI....which is what I went with. It really makes no difference, anyway, because I won't be changing up much at all compared to OWL.

Sandy - you hit a nerve abut getting rid of stuff. I have a literal pile of junk in the corner of our office - just waiting to go somewhere. Anyway, at lease one of us will be free of our junk! BTW-Thank you for the advice on my journal today. I was just over-thinking things. Will take your advice and explain in my bio!

Buffy, I've been trying to donate some of my larger things, a few pieces at a time. Believe it or not, I finally got rid of 3 similar tops that, for some reason, I just couldn't part with for the longest time. They weren't even among my "nicer" tops, either! No sentimental value, so I don't know why I was so attached to them. But those 3 shirts that were 18/20 in size finally left my home about a week ago.

Bren, I have the opposite issue with DH....he'd like to clear out tons of stuff and I'm the one running around behind him saying, "Wait, wait...." LOL!! Hope you're having a great weekend.

Stef, sorting is a problem for me too. Wish I could find a space big enough for me to spread out so it's easier for me to organize and make some decisions. I'm just trying to create SOME semblance of order before we end up moving....which throws everything into a jumble all over again!

Hey Sandy...OMG...you are BLUE!!!! I am tickled PINK for you. 86 pounds is amazing, simply amazing! Closet sorting has been an on-going thing for me, as I go down in sizes, the seasons change & then I have to go through last years stuff again, but I must say it is a pleasure to try what I wore last year on & have it be too big to wear! But, I do hear you on the having the space issue, I finally gave up on that, cause I can't add on to the house...LOL...thought about it though, so I just deal with what I can at the time. When I am all done, should be left is what fits right? The rest is going someplace. Good luck & congrats again, I am so happy for your "blue-ness" (pretty color too!)
