YES!YES!YES! I'll take it every time! I know I will probably have a rebound of a few pounds once I have food occupying my digestive tract again, it's still good because 1) I feel fantastic
2) I feel fantastic

That's the whole point behind this isn't it?

Edit: Now that I have done an all out effort, as all out as I can manage, with the carb spike experiment, each week I did it....I showed a loss. This week because of the fast the results were skewed, but, it did not hurt me. Healing my metabolism is important and I feel that occasional spikes (100 vs 20) of non processed food type carbs are probably in order for me so I am going to call the experiment a success! I will probably not do it every single week as that seems to be too close together for my ketosis to re-up, but every other week is fine and good :)

You guys have a beautiful and blessed day!

Hey Bill, I went to my May calendar, May I was actually breaking down and adding my walks, workouts, shopping etc. Did the math there.....not even close, I was supposed to lose about 16 pounds in May.....I lost 8. That tells me that Dr. Fung may be on to something there too, he says that our BMR dictates what our calorie expenditure is more so than exercise.

Debra, I went to his website and I enjoyed reading the posts. Thought about ordering his book but didn't. Not yet anyhow, still want to read his site more. Its very interesting, although a little technical for me. I slogged through until I understood what he was saying. Wasn't easy tho. You keep going! You're doing great. ;)

IMO calorie counting is a load of BS, at least for some. I can eat at a deficit all I want, but if my diet is includes certain things (sugar, grains, HFCS) I will still gain. I am soooo thrilled for you Debra!!!! You are right in saying that there isn't a lot of support in the real world. For me, there is more sabatoge attempts than support. I've even lost a few friends (associates rather) along the way, but who cares!? I found me! 😀

Makes sense to me. Dr. Fung is a smart guy.

Dr. Fung (along with many other LCHF experts, success stories, movies, recipes, etc) also has a great slot on dietdoctor.com The first month subscription is free, and then $9.99 afterwards.

Izel, All of the information in his book is pretty much in his blog, the big difference is the layout, it's re-arranged in the book to show the progression of the hypothesis, so that it makes more sense. The blog kinda skips around, also, the book does not focus quite as much on T2 Diabetes, He is a kidney disease specialist and his blog reflects his various interests in all of the related diseases. All of that is cleared out, the book focuses much more on what it is exactly that makes us fat.

I'm going to make the 'Low Carb Bread' from dietdoctor today. I watched Dr Fung on Youtube. He has a ton of videos there.

Let us know how the bread turns out Dboza, I have tried a couple of different recipes and didn't care for them much, discovered that it is much less labor intensive to simply forget it exists.

so this Dr. Fung must be pretty good. I have read you guys talking about him and his philosophy regarding LCHF weight loss. I will have to check his website out and learn more than i know now.

Good for you, Debra!

Thanks Mskestrela! Yes Ms Tina, he has a wealth of information that will help you along your path, I highly recommend either reading his blog and watching his videos on you tube or just buying his book. I'm a reading fiend so I just read his entire blog after watching all of his videos, then I read the book and found that I had pretty much already read it...but it cuts through a lot of the different disease factor lectures. I find those interesting so I like to read them, I soak up what I read like a sponge and it takes a few days for it to assimilate and organize in my brain, so right now I'm spewing information like an uncorked champagne bottle.

@NavyMomma, its not the LCHF he preaches, its the Fasting.

he has quite a few references to LCHF and how it assists Knuckles, everyone has to eat at some point and his point is...when you eat...high fat, moderate protein and low whole food carbs is good :) LCHF

Oh yeah, I wasn't disagreeing. Just saying his thing is the fasting.
