3.1 miles walked yesterday - UGH Index 8-9.

Waiting to see about walking this morning as we've had a line of strong storms come through. Looks like the rain has stopped but the thunder is still continuing. I'll check the radar and decide if I can get the doggies out for at least a short stroll.

I had a great time yesterday afternoon, getting a haircut and doing a good bit of shopping over in the neighboring city. I wasn't shopping for me, exactly, but I did find a great clearance sweater on my way past the Lands' End shop at Sears. AC Moore (gotta feed my crafty spirit), Office Depot, a clothing shop that often has EXACTLY what my mom needs (she's in a nursing home), Sam's, and a store that specializes in blinds/window treatments, were all stops for me after getting my hair cut. I could have spent hours more EASILY, but I needed to get home.

On my excursion, I took along an Atkins bar because I knew I'd be getting hungry along the way. Glad I packed it! By the time I got home, I was still pretty hungry. DH had come home and was napping due to an evening commitment that runs past a normal bedtime for someone who gets up just after 5. The bedroom is right off the kitchen, so even with the door closed, I feel I can't really do much in there without running the risk of waking him up. I didn't want to begin assembling dinner, so I grabbed a small dish of peanuts - wrong choice.
In retrospect, I probably should have grabbed an Atkins shake. You'd think I'd have this down by now, but I guess I'm still learning.

Just checked the radar and although we'll have cleared the storms in just a bit, they're still all around - Yikes! - right on top of us. OK, with the thunder still right here and it getting so very dark again, well, no walking today. Stairmaster, it is.

STAIRMASTER NOTES: Felt good, well, "good" for Stairmaster. Straight-arm support on final, heartbreak hill. Highest HR 150 on Heartbreak, 151 on cool down w/o any support. Recovery HR less than 110 after quick stretch at end of program.

Bren, there's a fairly new Wal-Mart (didn't shop there yesterday) that has Subway inside and MAN! does that bread smell good when you walk in that one set of doors! Even if you just ate, it still smells like you just gotta have a sub sandwich. I typically don't use those doors (for obvious reasons), but have forgotten upon occasion. I don't get the sandwich but those smells can make my tummy grumble.

Our Wal Mart has a Subway too...so I try to go through the Pharmacy side..but now they have all the Halloween candy stacked up high..I just put my blinders on and run past them...LOL...meaning I look straight a head...no looking side to side...

Sandy, you are so good with your walking. You inspire me. My right foot has such a pain in it right now that I can't take a walk but I CAN get on the recumbent bike. Thank you. Hope your weather clears up soon. Have a blessed day!

Sandy - You really went all out yesterday - no wonder you needed peanuts! I am very loud in the kitchen - and the quieter I try to be the noisier I become. Hope the poor doggies get to go for a walk.

Gigi...I had a bout of plantar fasciaitis a couple years back and could barely hobble anywhere, so I can sympathize. But that recumbent bike will still give you a great workout! Hope your foot improves.

Buffy....no walk for the doggies today. It has continued to rain and storm, with varying intensity. Thye thrift shop may need to do without me today because I'll stay home anytime storms are bad just to make my Nervous Nellie feel "somewhat" better. She won't even eat her breakfast until things quiet down and stay that way for awhile.

Sandy, you are a pro-shopper! I think you got plenty of miles in just shopping. I would have been exhausted after all that, I think you needed the protein & some quiet time too. I hope the doggies get their constitutional in tomorrow morning.

WOW Sandy, You are doing a wonderful job on all that exercising. You inspire me. I've not exercised in months and feel so guilty about it all as well. Keep up the great work.:)

GG...Yes, I actually love shopping, anytime, anywhere. Maybe it comes from all those years in retail. Just wish I had more time to "devote" to it!
