I need a good kick in the rear. I do so good for breakfast and lunch and even dinner when I stay home, but I have no self control when I am faced with eating out. Last night I went to get my hair cut and my hubby wanted to take me out to dinner. We went to my favorite italian place and of course I picked every bad thing I could to eat. Then what do I do but come home and eat 3 cookies. I need to keep telling myself that my goal is more important that immediate satisfaction with sweets. I've just been having a tough time with some personal issues and I'm trying to make myself feel better with food. Ok, enough self pity for today....

I will work out tonight and do some much needed laundry and eat healthy all day! One day at a time...one meal at a time.

We all have those moments of weakness. Eating out is especially tough. Have you tried deciding what you want to eat before you go to the restaurant? That usually helps me to make the healthier choices...when my decision is made before I am faced with all that food, it seems much easier. Many restaurants have their menus online.

One thing I do with restaurants is try to choose the healthiest option from what I want to eat. As in, I won't make myself eat only chicken breast with steamed broccoli if I really want pasta, but I will get pasta with red sauce instead of alfredo. Does that make sense? I think it's all about making better choices, even if they aren't the very best choices. You're still better off than you were a few months ago, right?

Thank you both for your comments. I always look at the menu online but then when the waitress takes forever to get our order I change my mind a million times. LOL That's a great idea Erika. I would at least feel good about making a better choice rather than the worst choice. It's funny. I had lunch today with two old friends. One has lost 50 pounds as a result of the lapband and the other is skinny as a rail. I'm so happy for my friend that has lost so much weight and she looks wonderful, but it kinda stunk that neither of them said a thing about my loss, which granted is only 23 lbs, but I notice it. BTW I had a very healthy sushi lunch and skipped all the tempura options. Yay me.
