blurose411's Journal, 30 March 2015

I thought about not recording this weight gain but that would be disingenuous. This past weekend turned into a cheat weekend instead of just one day. Disruption to our schedule and being lazy lead to some poor food choices which this time amounted to my first gain. Wasn't it just last week that I saw no loss? Staying motivated to exercise and to cook so many times a day is proving difficult at this time as well. Is this trend likely to continue? With the family home for spring break and Easter next weekend it would not surprise me. So how does one recapture the motivation to keeping do the hard things? Especially when one just fell into it in the first place? I'm enjoying the weight loss, the better fit of my cloths, the more stable moods; but I can't say my energy level has really come up yet. And, that is factoring into this loss of motivation as well as the emotional stuff that has come up as of late. But, I know what it really boils down to is determination and staying focused and I can't say I've had either for a little bit now. How do I get those back? I have more thoughts to write but I have to go for now; I have to take my grandmother and her dog to the vet. Happy journey everyone!

Thanks for sharing. I think the key to long term success is to make small changes over time. If you're like me you went headfirst into the diet. This is based on willpower alone and it won't last. Just take one meal at a time, make sure you are really hungry before you eat and eat in moderation. You can slowly change your food choices as you go along. Good luck on your journey, it's a marathon not a sprint.

Hey, yes thank you for sharing and for the honesty. It does take a LOT of motivation and staying positive through the hard times. It's not an easy road and it goes up and down quite a bit. You have a busy life with a husband and kids and heck I don't have either and this is hard enough for me! So just take your time and take it one day at a time, and it will come

thank you so much for sharing, I did the same thing this weekend! I was away with a couple of girlfriends and ate things I really shouldn't have. I gained as well. I'm back on track today though. Stay positive and stay in touch! You CAN do this! :)

You are not the only one that had a rough weekend. Sure I burned a lot of calories, but that does not justify the additional calories I consumed. In fact, it hindered the progress I could have made. Hang in there. We all have bad days but you just have to push past them.

Wow! Well done on the hard work you have put in! I'm motivated to do take the small steps everyday, now. Don't beat yourself up for this, it happens to the best of us. Forgive yourself, and keep going. Great job! :D

I messed up on Saturday, lost weight on Sunday, but gained both Monday and Tuesday, even though I only cheated on Saturday. A little frustrated, but I think reading everyone else's journals helps me stay on track. I'm not the only one and I know it's only temporary. I need to increase my exercise, too, but the cold weather is not motivating me. LOL. You're doing a great job! I think it will get easier as time goes on because you won't think so much about it, it will be second nature. I'm also worried about the Holidays. LOL. I know I won't go all out, but I know I'll have more than my normal caloric intake. LOL.
