wholefoodnut's Journal, 28 February 2015

Swearing at my computer, it keeps erasing stuff and I don't tell it to. This is my 3rd try.

better exercise week though I missed Thurs and Friday. Will have to fit some in this weekend. Eating was ok even with a higher than normal day on Thursday with the work dinner. weight is still stable.

This weekend is catch up on my house, it is a disaster then back to scrubbing wallpaper. I spent last night working on putting spices and dry goods like beans, grains etc. in new containers in preparation for my new shelves in the pantry closet; those will be installed shortly. I have a disorganized hodge podge and keep losing things.

Spent 2 hours catching up on fat secret, I may have missed some. Best get busy as the day is slipping away.

I kind of chuckle every time you mention wallpaper. Will it ever be gone? :) We moved last summer and believe me, I can relate!

Every once in a while mine will do that too. Go figure? BTW - from your last comment on my journal. Dog comes best when he hears "puppy treat".

I am currently trying to psyche myself up to paint the ceilings, which the darlings who lived here previously touched up with glossy finish paint. The colors match, but when the light hits it, the ceiling looks polka dotted!

Buffy, treats! treats! oh yeah!! mine loves treats. I get out the clicker and my pup gets excited, she knows if she learns she gets treats! I can click it out the back door and she comes running. Jumping like a pogo stick. I end up laughing she is so funny.

Izzy, Odd glossy as a touch up paint, maybe they just happened to have some on hand. Maybe some kiltz to let you paint it evenly. I love Kiltz as a primer. Ceiling paint is good as it is formulated not to spatter as much as the wall paint. I have saved some too big clothes to paint in as I always end up a mess. I will have to use some in spots in the kitchen as there are some spots. I'm boring I like white ceilings. I used a tint in my bedroom but will do white everywhere else.

I did light golden yellow ceilings for the girls and light blue with fluffy clouds for the boys. White everywhere else. Right now my house is mid century Lego lol.

I need new containers for my dry goods because they look ancient, but I will probably wait to buy any until on sale or after we move. I will put the old ones in the recycling cart.

Deb, if you have an Olde Time Pottery store near you, they have some nice containers that don't cost a fortune. I recently bought a bunch of glass barrel type containers with the old style canning jar lids in different sizes, I still need more and something for spices/herbs. Those will go on my open kitchen shelves, herbs on the rack on my pantry door. I would love to find some glass rectangular or square containers for my pantry but am collecting Ikea plastic ones for that since I haven't found anything affordable. Can't wait to get my kitchen done. Now Nichol has added a challenge of adding space for hydroponics. I will have to see how that fits in. I have to research that a bit first, last time I considered that was 20 years ago. There is a store near work that specializes in it so that will be a stop one day soon.

Nichol, laughing due to your mid century lego land décor. I remember those days well. I'm finally getting to do a house sort of my way. I've inherited a nice Thomasville traditional bedroom set made of pecan and an oak traditional dining room set that mostly matches my kitchen cabinets. My tastes are really more contemporary so it will be a rather eclectic mix, kinda like my cooking. I live in a 1950's ticky tacky ranch house in a neighbor hood of about 5 or 6 variations of the same basic house.

It's fun making a home your own. Takes some work (and money) but it's all worth it in the end. I bet it's fun living in Lego land. I love color. LOL!

I love color as well. I was going for subdued colors, my bedroom is a soft purple, it will stay that way nice and calm. My basement is salt water taffy colors of blue, peach, and purple. I kept it light as not much exterior light. My color scheme has changed drastically. My kitchen is going to be red a color called Smokin Hot! With white trim and extra shelving. It's been a dull light gray with that ugly fruit border. Can't wait to see it done.
