I have to give a shout out to my wife. She is from Thailand and generally eats in smaller healthy portions than I was used to. She is petite but still needs/wants to lose about 15 lbs. She has been very supportive of my weight loss, time at the gym, and new eating habits. Without her support this would be so difficult. I thank the good lord everyday I wake up next to her that I am so blessed to have her in my life. Thanks Honey, you are the best...

Calorie Confusion. Am I suffering from it? I love the ability to record the number of calories I take in and those that I expend. They arm you with sufficient data to analyze what you are doing and where you are failing or succeeding on a daily basis. I have found the weekends to be my problem. I know have a little less structure on the weekends but not grossly so. I have been looking into caloric intake as one of many factors. Looking at my data I note that I eat a very limited and controlled amount during the week and then increase the intake on the weekends. I am curious as to whether my body sees this as an opportunity to horde those extra calories and thus my weight plateauing and then increasing slightly. I am going to try and implement a calorie confusion regime during the week to see if I can stave this off. I will continue to track my input and output religiously and see if this has any effect. I freely admit that I still need to research this and continue to analyze the raw data, however I am hoping this might have at least a small effect. Next on to controlling being nearer the fridge and the food pantry on the weekends.

Arm yourself with knowledge. Wow, it is amazing how little you know what you don't know. I was curious if I was getting enough protein. I looked into it and found out I was getting to much. I specifically added a protein shake and protein bars thinking I was not getting enough. Not even. I was getting at times near double what was required. I then researched the effect of to much protein which led me down a path that after an hour led me to realize there was so much more to understand. It just amazes me how little we know. I grew up in a house that was in to vitamins and concerned about healthy eating and thought myself health savvy. I am an engineer with a lust for knowledge and I love to read. Even with all that I am still amazed at how much more I have to learn. The battle continues and I am up for this challenge.

My upper legs are killing me. I did a half an hour on the stair machine and am still sore two days later. The good thing is that I have lost nine pounds this week. Good food control and lots and lots of exercise. But oh mother my legs hurt. I think I may give the gym a pass tonight to let them rest and then back at it. Though now the stair machine is on my hit list...

Wow! 40lbs lost this year so far. When I weighed myself this morning it was followed by a loud hooray!!! Milestones are fun and this was a happy one. I still have 70lbs to go, but hey, 40lbs works for now. I just need to keep motivated and conquer my weekends. Otherwise my Weight History will look like a saw with a slight downward tilt. If I can do it, anyone can!!!
