I am 40 years old, and last year had baby number 6. :) For too many years, I have not been paying attention to what I have been eating AT ALL. Although my wonderful husband and children love me as I am, it is time for me to get healthy, so that in 10 years when I am 50, I can be strong and healthy for my youngest! My sweet children don't even know what I look like at a healthy weight- and that makes me sad!

Years ago, I lost 30 pounds on a low carb diet, and it worked well for me. However, I want something that I can sustain long term, and the low carb foods seem to get monotonous for me. Recently, I stumbled across the "Caveman Power" diet, and was going to do 2 weeks of one meal a day, then 2 weeks of 1 Paleo meal a day, then go to all Paleo. Turns out, eating one meal per day is working out great for me and my lifestyle! I have decided to just stay with the one meal per day (one full plate of food, whatever it may be, nothing but water for the rest of the day).

I can still cook a large yummy meal for my family, and then eat the leftovers plus whatever floats my boat to fill the plate the next day. I still drink my morning coffee- I just have it later in the day with my meal! I am surprisingly full at the end of my plate, and not hungry until about one hour before my meal time. I feel more alert and energetic as well.

I have since researched this way of life, and it has several names/forms. OMAD, OMAD Revolution, Intermittent Fasting, etc. If it continues to work, when I reach my goal (or my healthy weight- I've been overweight so long, I'm not sure what that even is anymore!) I will probably go to a 16/8 intermittent fast (8 hour eating window, 16 hour fasting window).

I will try to upload a photo every day of my meal- it won't be the perfect plate, or the prettiest..... but you can be sure it will be something I'm excited about eating!! When you eat one meal a day, you want it to be a good one!

May the Lord bless you on your journey!!
