I am 42 yrs old with two kiddos! Our daughter is 5 and our son is 7. I have had a hard time losing weight, especially since I had the kids. I was always a very thin when I was younger, so it is very frustrating to be heavy now!

Our family is going to California this summer and I don't care if I have a bikini bod, but I would like to feel comfortable in shorts...and maybe a one piece swimsuit! :)

I am motivated and as long as I keep track of the food I am putting in my mouth...I WILL SUCCEED!!

Low Carb/Low Cal?? Help!!
Thanks y'all! Despite what could have been a terrible lunch (boss took the staff to lunch), I ended up okay on my calories and actually lost weight. I think I am going to do as you recommend and pick a primary path...calories for now...and be mindful of the carbs.

Jess...I have to say, as someone who doesn't really exercise much I am thilled to be able to count the things that I do actually do...housework after a long day has become a little easier knowing it is getting me to my goal...haha!!

Thanks gang!!

Low Carb/Low Cal?? Help!!
I have been using the site off and on, but never as seriously as I am this time! A vacation in California this summer is a good motivator!!

I am trying to watch both my carbs and my calories, but I am finding it very difficult to do both at the same time. If I hit my calories I end up with too many carbs or too much fat.

I have done SB before with good results, but it is difficult with my crazy schedule. (I work fulltime, hubby works crazy day/night hours, we have 2 kids...I haul them around...in other words...NORMAL MOM)

Any suggestions??

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I know lots of folks say you should only weigh once a week, but I am with the people above who say they weigh every day. I do too! It helps me keep on track. I am more likely to 'cheat' if I weigh in once a week because I let myself think I will make it up...
