I am doing good today. Was in a blue funk but I am feeling better. Made a great summer salad with cucumbers, onions, grape tomatoes and celery. Upped my exercise to one hour. (at my weight, I think it's pretty good!). I must carry on and be the best I can be.

My sister and I both work for a large healthcare company (we're both clerical, not clinical) and she called to tell me that she went into a patient room today (it wasn't occupied) and started to shake and cry. She had flashbacks of our mom in the hospital. Why am I writing this? I guess because I am trying to not think of what has happened. When I do, I want to drown my sorrows in food. I need to get past that need to medicate myself with food. My mom is gone, I have to deal with it without using food as a crutch.

I'm sad today. It's been 3 months since my Mom died. I work full time, go to see my dad after work everyday for a few hours, then come home and deal with my household. I have a wonderful life, but I miss Mom a lot. Eating to numb myself is no longer an option. Does the hurt get better?

Not sure I'm eating enough, so I ordered (please don't laugh at me) the Richard Simmons Food Mover to help me keep track of my servings. I'm not one to write things down (always busy, busy, busy) but I think this will do the track. Anybody ever use it??

My work picnic went really well. I ate, but I didn't overdo it. Had the shredded bbq sandwich, but ate it open faced. (The chicken didn't look as good). I think I drank more water than anything. Way to go! (I'm patting myself on the back...)LOL
