Fluxed a little bit in the last month- sick, but it was the holidays, so it went back and forth. About to start heading to the gym in the afternoons, which will be good!

I had put it off for nearly a year, but I finally got x- rayed yesterday and my lower back pain is indeed due to degenerative disc disease. My sister has it, my mother has it, and it is now appearing in my lumbar. However, we all get it to some degree eventually- and it's actually more common to have it than not by the time you're 60. What worried me, and the reason I put off going, was the thought that it could be something worse- like the first signs of RA, which my mother has. Now I know that while it's a chronic condition, staying healthy and strong will stave off the pain and reverse the speed of degeneration. I can move forward now, and losing as much weight as I can will actually really help me. It's good to know that my weight, while in normal range, is seriously not good enough. That's going to motivate me to lose that extra 15- 20 pounds I'm looking to lose.

Work England trip was one big sugar binge, eating very few meals and totally horking them down in large quantities. I had gained maybe 3 pounds but have since lost them- basically just got back where I was before, which I'm thankful for I guess!
