I need to do something about my weight and I need to do it now. I have struggled with my weight for a long time, as have both my parents, my sister, and one of my brothers. I really started gaining weight when I began fertility treatments to have my first child. I gained 15 lbs while taking the medication, and another 30 when I finally got pregnant. Those 30 came off within 3 weeks, but that first 15 lbs remained. Then, we tried to get pregnant again and I went through the exact same thing. So, here I am more than 30 lbs overweight and now my doctor told me my cholesterol is getting high and she wants me to go on medication. I really don't want to do that. I want to learn to eat right. I do exercise about 3-4 times a week but really need to get my act together. I hope to gain some knowledge and encouragement on this site. It's nice (for me) to know that I am not the only person struggling with this issue. I want to lose about 40 lbs. Have been doing Atkins and Weight Watchers Core combination diet. A little discouraged at this point but more than anything I want to be successful this time. I can do it, we all can!

Can you help? Using oil in cooking...
Hey, can anyone give me an idea of how to account for your cooking oil in your food journal...say I use 1 TB EVOO in my grill pan for my chicken. I cook three chicken breasts and for dinner, I eat one...I'm not really eating 1/3 of a tsp EVOO b/c there is still a little in the pan when I am done. Do I ignore those calories/fat (which doesn't sound right) or what is the best way to add them in to my food journal so I get a better account for what is actually going in?
