I am 28 years old and live in a small town in Saskatchewan , Canada. I enjoy activities like fishing, quading and biking. I work 7 days a week for the last 3 years and it has taken a lot out of me in the last year. I have started to take more days off (weekends) and i am trying to lose the weight so that i have more energy and feel better about myself image. My husband and i have struggled for a few years now and we both have decided that it is time to get in shape. We have started eating healthier and exercising. We are going to do this the hard way and fight every last pound off so when we have children one day we will be able to enjoy running around with them.

HI! New to fatsecret
Hi,
I will be 28 in a week, i am from Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. I am wanting to get serious about this myself. I am going on a hot holiday in November and hate the way i look in a swim suit. I really wanted to start losing all the weight because i am tired of looking this way. I have a twin sister and she is the total opposite of me. I am 5 foot 8 and 192 lbs she is 5 foot 11.5 and 160 lbs. Very tall and slim. Can eat anything she wants and as much as she wants and not gain weight. She is the same size and weight since we were 17. I know it doesnt sound like a good reason to start but when i get on the beach with her in November i want to feel good standing next to her not like a blob in the sand.

I could really use someone to help me get through this.

Need Buddy
The sugar cravings go away but it takes time. If i want something sweet i eat a granny smith apple or an orange. I find that i crave salty foods...chips,pop corn, things like that.

Hello.... simple but straight forward
I had gotten sick two years ago and my doctor put me on a chicken, fish, fruit and veggie diet, not a lot of dairy and no red meats. I started to increase my exercise daily and stuck to that diet. I went from 215lbs down to 175lbs in a year i looked great felt great. Then i got engaged and was planning a wedding forgot about the exercise started a new job and started to eat unhealthy again. In the last year i have gained most of that weight back (20lbs) now i am on the right path again and trying my best to stick with it.

I myself give in to cravings as well. I take it one day at a time. No one is perfect because if we were this site would not be here to help us.

I give myself a break in moderation once a week. If we are in the city and only have a short time to eat we stop at a fast food joint. I make sure i order the salad if i am craving that burger then i pick it but leave the fries and drink. I know its not good but if i don't give in then i will hit the wall and pig out another day. Over time your cravings start to get smaller. Just takes practice to say no. Trust me!!

What do you do for a living??
I live a very busy life. I work full time Monday through Friday as a Medical Receptionist at a Physiotherapy Clinic. I enjoy working with the public but work with a group of men that are really fit and enjoy junk food. There is never a week that goes by that someone has not bought chips or doughnuts. I usually can stay clear of the doughnuts but the chips are hard.
I also work Tues and Thur. nights and Sat. and Sunday mornings at a golf course. I am on my feet a lot, and there is a lot of heavy lifting. I enjoy this job because i get to work with the public and outside. Only thing is it doesn't give me much of a life.
We live in a very active community, on any given night you will see no less then 10 people out walking, biking or roller bladding, its nice to see and i enjoy joining in when i get the time.
