Hi Everyone!! My name is Kylie, and I'm 51 years old, a mom, wife, dog-lover, and New Hampshire native. I'm here to recover from a herniated disc and get back to hiking, walking, mountain biking and skiing. I also want to develop and sustain a commitment to weight training and 18:6 IF. I currently weight train 3-4 days a week for 30-40 minutes, mostly for stability, recovery and bone density. I want to develop healthier eating habits also! I love to cook and love to have adventures diversifying my food choices. I am also looking for sustainable food inspiration from one and all!! Happy 2023 everyone!

I forgot how great FS is
Hi LP! I have many of the same goals as you! I'm 10 years older and married, but also have a daughter who is almost grown, and 2 adult children. Sometimes I "reward" myself with food too - especially a little dark chocolate. I'm not going to retire early though - at least, I hope not! Hubs and I just started our own business; stressful, but hopefully fruitful. I also sit a lot, working at my desk! Working on recovering from a herniated disc that happened back in October, and making steady progress walking and doing some gentle weight lifting 3-4 times a week. See you soon and Happy New Year!

Venting to the void, but feel safe enough here to do so
It sounds like you might be able to benefit from some emotional and psychological support, whether it is going to therapist you like (I go myself Smile), spending time outdoors, doing some meditation of some kind, or just self care like taking a bubble bath, or doing some drawing or coloring. I have also heard that rebounding is really good for the mood! Some people do the 'sunlight' lightbulbs at this time of year, too. All these can really help with the anxiety and depression component, and it seems like reducing stress and just generally feeling better is something you really need the most right now - be kind to yourself and get enough rest and sleep.
