OK I joined here to tract calories I was eating 1200 ,then hired a trainer he wanted me around 2500 with exercise to build and tone , so I actually eating more , I joined July 8 at 223 pounds , I have small goals in mind , but actually all goals are for winter . I have had 8 bad winters like taking many pain and other meds I have no T so I got to exercise excessively to maintain or lose and I had to make a 180 turnaround , At sickest I took 48 pills a day today July 25 2016 . I am own to 6 so life getting better , As I continue my new life I to isn't a diet it is complete life change , as no smoking exercise , no fast food no pasta no sugar or process foods and guess what I still miss a lot I wont say I don't but its my last chance to live in cold I have to move it pain returns in winter I will not go back on meds as its a domino effect . I still in pain but as I losing and exercising life got better. If I had to say what has helped me most of my new life other then stopping smoking with 1 lung lol , I have to say Pilates has changed my life for 8 years I could not walk up stairs left foot and right foot now I can fly like a normal person so is it worth it Yes give up things that u crave for a better quality of life ,my real goals are in 10 pounds increments , If you look at weight I was never 400 I dont know how to erase it . but I am it in for life , but if after all this is winter bad then I will relocate will be sad to move from friends but dont want to go back on meds .

thank you one last question when you said you stopped sugar does sugar in natural fruit count or just refined ?

Hi I am new here since July 8 , prior I was eating 1200-1500 calories a day , no dairy , no refined sugar , no pasta and my exercise was excessive fitness classes for 3 months yoga , Pilates , strength training and water aerobics .stayed same weight but I lost inches and got more stamina .

I decided to do 3 sessions and be evaluated by a personal trainer , I am a 55 yr old man many old injuries .so after trainer acessed me he said diet is horrible u r exercising more then you eating and over exercising , he said give me 3 months and see difference I agreed to try it so went from 2+ hrs a day in classes like 5 to 6 days a week to new schedule here it is

heavy weight training 10 reps 3 sets at weight to fail for 1 hr 3x week whole body each work out , and only 2 hours
max cardio ,, he said eat more meat and 40% fat a day and split carbs and proteins and eat salt , but said try to hit 3000 calories to lose weight and make muscle to raise metabolism well I did first workout Friday , changed diet to as he said so I added like butter , nuts and red meat for fats I could only ingest 2400 calories first day and felt ill second day 2200 I feel like It is hard to eat this many calories with my water intake and what body was used to and my mind says I am going to get fat , here is my weight after 2.5 days don't ask me why I lost 2 pounds how can this be I feel like I am eating constantly ? can some one please explain how less calories burned when exercising and doubling my calories and fat and using salt caused a 2 pound loss this quick ? water intake is same 8 17 ounce bottles .

also last thing from the small workout Friday I hurt all over with all my other classes for 3 months I never hurt , will pain subside cause it is different type of exercise ? I didnt life weights prior our strength class did weights but very light weight and many reps or holding in positions like half way , with his routine here is example squats in classes 60 pounds trainer work out 310 pounds 10 times my legs shake at 8 reps thought they would fall out by the 10th lol

I stopped sugar except in fruit for protein shakes with whey for post workout meal , there is a difference between sugar in say blue berry's or or a banana or refined sugar in say ice cream or fast food or Chinese food I think anything refined and processed is bad for sugar if I want sweets I have a protein shake with fruit if I want icecream I freeze fruit and add icecubes and blend it and I is 0 refined sugar low carbs protein and good carbs its a substitute for sweets , It satifies my sweet cravings and I know its good food
