My name is Helga. I am 48 years old. A mother and a wife of 25 years. I have 2 sons.
I am a German citizen and married my husband when he was stationed in Germany. We moved to the United States in 1991. That was when my troubles began. For 7 long years I was homesick and stressed living in this foreign country where I did not have any support from family. To make matters worse my husband was an over-the-road trucker. I was scared and lonesome and bored and that was when I discovered that food was my secret "calmer". I used food to comfort myself, reward myself and soothe myself. Since there was a language barrier at the beginning I did not get out alot. Anyway I am no longer homesick, I have grown roots here and life is just fine with its normal ups and downs.
But the scars I am carrying around with me now. I have never been able to stick with any diet and always gained more back than I had lost. So this has to be a lifestyle change.
Goals (in 5% increments):
1st: 5 % lost - weigh in @ 349.0 lbs - Met 2/02/10 Yeah! Praise GOD!
2nd: 10 % lost - weigh in @ 331.0 lbs - Met 3/23/10 Yeah!Glory to GOD!
3rd: 15 % lost - weigh in @ 314.0 lbs - Met 9/01/11 Awesome GOD!
4th: 20 % lost - weigh in @ 298.0 lbs -
5th: 25 % lost - weigh in @ 283.0 lbs -
6th: 30 % lost - weigh in @ 268.0 lbs -
7th: 35 % lost - weigh in @ 254.0 lbs -
8th: 40 % lost - weigh in @ 241.0 lbs -
9th: 45 % lost - weigh in @ 228.0 lbs -

I steam them in a steamer with nothing on them I have been doing nothing but broccoli. chicken broth sound easy to try thanks!
