Shape-up Shoes
OH, I also wanted to tell you that I think you're supposed to get a 1/2 size larger than you normally wear.

Shape-up Shoes
I got lucky! My mom got a size 9 in the Reeboks and they were too small for her so she gave them to me. I wear an 8 and they are a little too big, but whatever, they were free. At first it made me nervous to wear them while walking my energetic, frantically tugging Boxers because you don't have the stability of flat-bottomed shoes. Now I wear them all the time. Maybe it's a placebo effect but I swear I'm squeezing my butt and hamstrings with every step I take, even when I'm at work walking around in steel-toed boots. I started taking Body Pump again last week after 3 yrs off and I haven't even been a little bit sore from the squat tracks. That is VERY unusual. I attribute it to my butt being used to all the squeezing because of the shoes. Weird, but it's all I can come up with. Let us know what you think.

You need to read this....

http://whyguys.wordpress.com/2010/04/15/why-do-stalls-happen-what-i%E2%80%99ve-learned/?preview=true&preview

WhyGuy started it as a post on the Adkins website and it has a lot of useful information.

You can calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate here (BMR):

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/bmr-formula.php

Based on the experimentation of some people who posted, you need to figure out your BMR, add in your exercise and eat at least 70-80% of the calories your body uses daily to prevent going into starvation mode and stalling. I just started experimenting with a higher caloric intake a couple of days ago.

Also, don't worry about your heart rate. There's no way you could be anaerobic for an entire 60 mile bike ride. And you might think about choosing between lowfat and low carb so you're getting more than just protein. Good luck!!
