In January of 2006, I decided, after YEARS of pretending to diet and try to lose weight, to get serious! It's true that you won't be "able to" lose until you're really ready to. In '06, I must have been ready.
I started out walking on my lunch at work, then had my desktop raised, so that I was standing instead of sitting, started eating lots of "rabbit food" (or salad), then rampped up from walking to jogging. I cut out almost all fat, and went low cal.
It took about 6-7 months, and I was down to 112 from approximately 155-160. Over the course of the next year, I dropped to around 105. Now I hover between 104-108, generally. For the last 4 years, I've been working on maintaining that weight.
In the last couple of months, I've begun some moderate weight lifting, trying to stay in shape, and gain a little more shape. :-)
