I am 49 years old and after struggling with my weight a good portion of my adult life, I'm now at 315 lbs and was recently diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. It was probably the most scary thing I've ever been told and because of Covid-19, I am at a standstill waiting for further testing. The only thing that I do know is that my best bet is to lose the weight and get healthy.

My initial goal is just to get under 300 lbs and then I'll reset my goals each time I reach one until I finally reach my ultimate goal of 160-175. I have never cared about the opinions of others and that stands now. My only concern is extending my life and my time with my children and grandchildren as much as humanly possible. I want to live.

WooHoo!!! Only 100 pounds left to go!
When you're so overweight, as I am also, having "only" 100 pounds left means so much more than some may ever understand. I have about 130 - 145 to go. I don't know yet what weight I will look and feel my best at, but I can hardly wait for the day when I only have 100 pounds left to lose. Keep it up and stay excited about it.

I feel bloated even though I have been careful of what I eat.
Also, don't forget water retention from excess salt and heat. I swell up pretty badly sometimes when I go for walks during the heat of the day. Try to watch your salt & caffeine intake and drink lots of water. I just started adding a cup of green tea every day and so far, it seems to be helping. I'm not sure if it's the tea or a combination of everything, but I'm just going to go along with it for now. Good luck and don't get discouraged, it will all work out if you keep at it.

I gained....WTF
I think that is really good advice. My challenge lately has been water gain. I have been so swollen for the last 2 weeks that I went on a site specifically about water weight. I am drinking so much water that I feel like I might float away so I knew that I needed more info to help me out. One of the tips, besides drinking more water and watching salt intake, is that green tea (in moderation) is helpful in getting rid of some of the water but like coffee and other caffeinated drinks, too much caffeine causes you to lose potassium and calcium. There were other tips that I can't remember at the moment, too early I think, but that is the one I focused on for myself and I can already feel the swelling going down. I hope that this helps and don't give up, no matter what that darn scale says.
