I am on the no late night snacking challenge. I work part time and attend college full time. My classes are at night (every day from 5-9:30) and I have to get up early for work; therefore I tend to study later into the night (past midnight most nights). What effect, if any, does a (small) late night snack have on metabolism? I wanted to curb my late night snacking just because most of it was nutritionally bankrupt when I could be making better choices. Maybe it's not realistic to cut it out altogether? And does anyone have suggestions for people who aren't really hungry for breakfast, but want to try to incorporate it into their plans?

I wish I could determine my weight without constantly checking the scale. I haven't had a scale in the house in over 18 months, which is good for me (much less obsessive) but I would like to know for sure if I am maintaining where I am or gaining/losing weight. I think that I do not have a good sense of trusting where my body is and I always feel that I need to undereat (based on my daily requirements) or I will gain weight. However, I do not want to keep on that path and end up losing weight because that would not be healthy for me either. Plus having to gain weight back, simply put, is a bitch (losing is always more rewarding). I don't know if anyone actually reads this, but how do you handle the scale? I tend to go by the way clothing fits and usually know where I am give or take a couple pounds, but somehow I still want to know the number! Hmmm what to do.

I am starting the No Late Night Snacking challenge today. I tend to stay up late but I KNOW I will feel better about myself in the morning if I stick to water or tea, as opposed to eating something sugary/nutritionally vacant
