25. Work with English language learners. Going to school & working toward eventually becoming a nurse practitioner :) On FatSecret because I want accountability for my intake (calorically/macronutrient/otherwise). I also want a place where I can track my eating patterns, as well as a judgment-free zone as I (hopefully!) progress with my fitness goals. I have struggled with an eating disorder for many years and am trying to find recovery on my own terms.

metabolism
For example... why is it better to eat 1700 calories (and burn 500 through additional physical activity) rather than only eating 1200?

Also, if I eat under 1000 some days, over 1000 on others (I was exercising with the Wii but fell off the bandwagon after getting super busy with work and the school semester), how does this affect my metabolism? I'm afraid to increase because I just want to maintain my weight, but I want to be healthy (and not have to count every single bite that I put in my mouth)
