About me, I live in London and have mainly had sedentary jobs. I've tried most diets but with limited success. I decided to cut out excess carbs - rice, pasta, bread and cake. I eat mainly pulses, fish, vegetables, dairy, nuts/nut butter. I wear waist trainers to restrict portion size, now my portion sizes are comfortably small even without the waist trainer. I walk everyday and at work or at the train station I always take the stairs. I like the conversations on this site, which I find motivational. I would like fellow-guests on this site to contact me to swap ideas and good practise.

Closing in on the ideal weight?
I joined this site in May 2017, then, I was 104kg I had changed my diet that February and had already lost 14kg and felt that the weight loss was slowing down and was looking for inspiration. I found lots of inspiration on this site which motivated me to persevere. I am 67kg, according to my Wii Fit I need to lose a further 8kg, taking me to 59kg. I think that 59kg is good for young people, I fear looking gaunt. I don't mind losing a further 4/5kg then maintaining my weight. Has anyone else had any predicament about when to maintain the weight reached or push to lose more?

Hi I'm pat need help losing weight any advice
I exercise and wear a waist trainer which limits the amount of food that I can eat in one sitting, when I feel full I stop even if its only 4 spoons full as I do not loosen the waist trainer. Of course I ensure that what I eat is health as the portion sizes are limited. That's my trick don't know if it would work for you. I was 121kg/266lbs in February last year, I now have less than 28lbs to achieve the ideal weight of 130lbs for my height. Find what works for you, try not to cut out whole food groups that you plan to reintroduce in future, instead control portion sizes, limit processed foods and exercise. With exercise build up slowly to stay motivated.I hope this helps.

Feeling Fat Despite Loosing Weight
Thank you for that, I agree I do not feel thin enough, although people comment that I am. Not sure if I am obsesses with it as I weigh myself no more than every two weeks sometimes a month will go past without me weighing myself, I usually feel disappointed in my progress hence the avoidance I think. I am under a consultant as I was borderline diabetic with high cholesterol, hence I decided to change my diet and lifestyle to avoid chronic health issues. My dietitian and consultant always sat that I am making good progress, which I am in the sense that diabetes and high cholesterol are no longer issues. I've generally fallen out with food, I don't crave things the way I use to. Also I do not have anyone in my family to loose weight with as they are all slim. My daughter who is 5" 6" struggles to maintain 44 kg, even a little cold and her weight drops. Thanks for the love, much appreciated.

Feeling Fat Despite Loosing Weight
Not sure lost it steadily since May 2017.
I have changed my diet, ate too much carbs and was addicted to chocolate.
Now I consume fish, nuts, pulses, milk, soya mince, vegetables, eggs, fruit, flax seed, sweet potatoes, quinoa, muesli, couscous for snacks I choose between: yogurt, 10 cal jello, whey ice cream, or Tesco slimmers crisps. That is my entire diet, I only eat fish since I was a teenager but I've cut out processed food, rice and bread.
I exercise mainly at home using the Wii fit and treadmill, I sometime go to the gym once a week usually and do some resistance training, so I lost the bulk of the weight in less than a year.

Feeling Fat Despite Loosing Weight
When I started on this site last may, I was just over 104 kg. I now have 13.2 KG to go in order to achieve my ideal weight of 60.3. The trouble is that I feel very fat, even more so than when I was at my heaviest. Has anyone else experienced this? I am not sure if a contributing factor is that nothing fits me, I'd buy something and shortly after it no longer fits well.
