Finding Something Bigger than Yourself
Doing the big walk this upcoming weekend! 18 miles or 30 km per day on Saturday and Sunday. The walk is called "Weekend to End Breast Cancer" - a fundraiser to raise money for research at Canada's most imminent cancer hospital (largest in Canada exclusively devoted to cancer treatment, research, and education- the Princess Margaret.
So, after the very difficult year of breast cancer diagnosis, gall bladder removal and 2 fractured ribs - I'm going to walk as far as I can! I have many supporters and am quite excited about this challenge (signed up for next year too).
Yes, weight watching is very important, but finding something bigger than yourself is better.

Big weight gain - but no exercise and more food. Recovery from my gallbladder removal and my fractured ribs led to more eating.
The good news - I'm feeling great now. I'm ready to begin again with a real skip to my step. Hopefully, the bad luck is behind me.

Back on track - literally. My recovery from the accidents and illness I've had for the past year, finally, is over! I'm well enough to train for the big 60 km Weekend to End Breast Cancer Walk. Well, maybe a third of it anyway!!

Found out that I have 2 fractured ribs. Ouch. Becoming quite the couch potato. The good news is that I'm watching my fibre intake big time, especially while taking pain medication which is quite constipating. Looking for silver linings in all of my health issues for the last year.

Frustrating ....now I have a chest wall injury! My health is not co operating in this quest to lose my 10 lbs. My focus now is not on exercising, but resting. Enjoy it while I can, right?
