I have been fighting a head cold all week, and I have been overwhelmed with deadlines at work, so there has been little time or energy available on my part to participate in the challenge this week, and I apologize to my teammates.
I am happy that I maintained my weight, because I have certainly eaten stuff this week that I did not need to. Week 2 will be much improved.

I met my goal! I finished my 5-K in 29 minutes and 47 seconds! Yea!

I am at my parents' tonight. I will be running a 5K tomorrow morning at Callaway Gardens near where they live. I am hoping that I won't get too cold tomorrow morning. The race starts at 7:50 and the projected temperature is now up to 40 degrees with cloudy skies. That's a big improvement over the weather forecast at the beginning of the week (32 degrees and rain), and believe me I am not complaining. I can usually finish a 5K in a little over 30 minutes. I think my last race was about 32 minutes. It is my hope to be under 30 minutes this time if at all possible. This is supposed to be a flat and fast race. I have been doing a lot more running over the past month to month and a half, and I have been working on increasing my distance and my speed. Tomorrow is my chance to see the progress I have made. I figure the cold will either speed me up, or it will slow me down. We will have to wait and see. I'll post my results tomorrow.

I changed my goal weight to 145 like I posted last week. I am down one more pound. I skipped grocery shopping last weekend so my fruit and vegetable choices have not been as plentiful this week. I need to go grocery shopping!
Wish me luck Sunday morning. I am running in a 5K. My husband tells me I'm crazy. The temperature is supposed to be right around freezing. I haven't run in temperatures that cold before. I should be happy though. The weather has been a good bit colder than that during the past week. I'm trying to convince myself that 32 degrees is a good thing. Keep your fingers crossed that I miss the spotty showers that are also in the forecast.

Woo hoo!!!! Another 2 pounds this week! I am getting so close to my goal weight (only 2 pounds away), but I am thinking that I will probably decrease my goal weight by another 5 pounds. My scale is off by 5 pounds and to truly be at 150 pounds, then my scale has to say 145. I have hovered around the 160 (165 real weight) for so long that I would have been happy seeing my scale say 150. Since starting this challenge though and seeing the progress I am making, I want to go for the "real world" 150. Watch for a goal change from me.
