Today is my 2nd day of 5:2 fasting for the week. The first day went great because I was prepared and had my menu thought out. Today will be a struggle because I did not think my menu out ahead of time, now I'm struggling to find what to eat not to go over my calories for today.

Weighed in at 183.0 this morning(185.8 on Monday). I'm sure it was all water, but I'll take it. I have high blood pressure and lately have been retaining a lot of fluid and my ankles have been horrendous! Finally last night they were back to normal after many weeks of staying hydrated and taking my BP meds everyday. Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere and feeling encouraged!

I started South Beach and adhered to it strictly, but I didn't seem to get anywhere. I had continued many of the tenets of it since the first time I was on it about 6 years ago so I think I didn't get the immediate weight loss this time because I had stopped sodas, juices, refined sugars anyway and continued to read labels. So, I'm going to just limit my carbs, trying for only 20% a day, plus I need to eat fruit so that I can curb my sweet tooth. I'm going to incorporate the 5-2 eating plan. My 73 year old aunt does it since having that stomach ring deal, she is diabetic and her BS have been great her weight is stable between 150-153(she used to be in the 200's!)Nothing beats a failure but a try! Wish me luck!
