I've been struggling with my weight most of my life. I'm a woman of many sizes: everything from a 5 to a 18. I've tried all sorts of diets and diet programs; Fit For Life, Beverly Hills, Overeaters Anonymous, and Weight Watchers to name a few. I even did a hospital sponsored class called "The Hunger Within". In the past,I could always lose weight, just not keep it off. Being in my 50's and going through menopause hasn't helped my slow metabolism.

Just counting calories and recording here keeps me accountable. I've read about The Belly Fat Cure and ordered the book. Hopefully it will arrive soon. For now I'm trying to keep to the 15/6 (15 grams of sugar and 6 servings of carbohydrates) a day. I'm hoping this is a plan I can stick with.

My daughter is getting married in July and I have a goal of being 20 pounds lighter before then.

I really want to go OUT for dinner!
You can go out to dinner. Just plan ahead. Try to go somewhere that has a menu online. Some restaurants may even have nutritional information listed. If not, do your research. Try to make your selection ahead of time. Beware of hidden calories in sauces and salad dressings. I've started asking for sugar free salad dressing or just request oil and vinegar.

I'm following the Belly Fat Cure, so I'm really counting Carbs and Sugar. Using this plan I've been to a nice Italian restaurant. I had grilled whitefish, sauteed spinach, grilled zucchini and even a glass of wine. I've also been to Chili's, had the chicken fajita, and at KFC had grilled chicken and a side of mashed potatoes.
