I am determined to get in shape and stay in shape!!
I come from a family that loves food and have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. My current weight is affecting my self-esteem, energy and breathing. I have various aches and pains and the extra weight makes normal every day activities much more difficult than they should be.
Recently my mom ended up in the ER having trouble breathing and going into heart failure due to a major BP spike. She has high blood pressure, diabetes and an assortment of other ailments. My dad is also diabetic and has high cholesterol. It was a wake up call for my whole family and we have all been making better food choices.
I am near the heaviest weight I have ever been (have taken off 15 lbs)and have known for awhile that I need to do something but just could not find the motivation. Almost losing my mom was a rude awakening and the jolt I needed.
My work schedule is 4 - 10 hour days and my job is pretty sedentary. On my days off I am more active doing housework, yardwork and take the dogs for walks. Finding time to exercise on the 4 days I work is difficult especially with the hours of daylight shrinking. I am working to add more activity into my work days by walking more and taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
I am feeling very optimistic and love the nutritional information that is available on this sight.
