Loss is still strong, but slowing. I can't say I'm surprised as I ate a little tiny bit of stuff I shouldn't nearly every day this week, and I only worked out twice. I don't know what kind of magical kingdom I think I'm living in (apparently one where you hope to lose weight without trying very hard!). I can't really complain as the needle is down. I think I've been stress eating because my in-laws have been over here almost every day of October so far and I'm feeling very crowded and put on the spot a lot. I like them a lot, but I'm not used to having people over so much. It is a cultural challenge I've faced since marrying my wonderful husband, who happens to be from Mexico City. His family is so close they call each other several times a day. I talk to my mom about once every couple weeks so it is a huge adjustment and I feel a ton of pressure. Well, another week is completed and I'm somewhat proud of the results but I really did want to try to be under 200 by 10/31. Doubting I can lose 8 lbs by next Wednesday, but maybe I can lose 4 if I exercise every day. Good luck with your weigh-ins everyone.

Went to a wedding this weekend; great to see a huge group of my friends I've not seen in a while. Mostly, I loved not feeling too terribly self-conscious of my weight. Not at my goal of course, but the weight I've lost so far has really made a difference. With planning and restraint, I think it went well as far as the diet is concerned. I ate dinner at the wedding but avoided the worst offenders (i.e. creamy pasta ravioli) but I did allow myself a small piece of cake. In preparation, I ate JC breakfast/lunch, but skipped my snack, salad dressing fat serving, and JC dinner portion. I also avoided all alcohol at the wedding so I think overall it went well. I had a great time and I didn't get sucked into impromptu drunken karoke like some of my fellow guests. So, my diet and my dignity are in tact! On to the next social challenge -- my up coming trip to Mexico. :)

Arrgghhhhhh. This week has been savage. I've been starving all week. I can't figure it is anything different except the weather cut-over... It's been cold and rainy here all week. I've decided in the next couple weeks it is time to take my workouts outside. I've been using a treadmill inside and it is a great tool for conditioning and working out, but I've never dropped pounds as efficiently as when I'm hitting the pavement outside a few times a week. It just seems to work twice as fast as a treadmill. "Experts" seem to say it's something about the slopes, wind resistance, heightened awareness -- all of this combines to burn more calories. Sigh. But I'm nervous because I'm still pretty heavy and I don't know how far I can go and I'm feeling a little self-concious running in my neighborhood for the first time. I don't know where this is coming from. I'm just kind of putting it off...
