CalorieKiller's Journal, 21 October 2007

Went to a wedding this weekend; great to see a huge group of my friends I've not seen in a while. Mostly, I loved not feeling too terribly self-conscious of my weight. Not at my goal of course, but the weight I've lost so far has really made a difference. With planning and restraint, I think it went well as far as the diet is concerned. I ate dinner at the wedding but avoided the worst offenders (i.e. creamy pasta ravioli) but I did allow myself a small piece of cake. In preparation, I ate JC breakfast/lunch, but skipped my snack, salad dressing fat serving, and JC dinner portion. I also avoided all alcohol at the wedding so I think overall it went well. I had a great time and I didn't get sucked into impromptu drunken karoke like some of my fellow guests. So, my diet and my dignity are in tact! On to the next social challenge -- my up coming trip to Mexico. :)

Good for you...When you don't drink and everyone else is drinking doesn't it make you wonder why WE do drink? I noticed that when I was preggers... You sound really focused and just need to continue on your downward spiralling of your graph. It fun to see yours going crazy! Congrats!

Um, yes on the drinking. I try not to be judgmental but drinking just makes normal, good people act like complete idiots. The bride actually told me that they weren't going to think about kids until after nrxt Summer so she would have on emore summer of "drinking" LOL!

Hmmmm - perhaps if I cut out wine altogether, my weight loss might be as good as yours. Just don't think I'm ready for that - I look forward to my weekend wine drinking!!

I love wine. But for my metabolism I cannot have any alcohol and still losse weight. The two cancel each other out. Plus, while I'm metabolizing it I am ravenous which is a double-threat. It makes for a puritanical process, that's for sure!

But Lucy - you're doing great so if you can have it from time to time and still lose you're way better off than me!

I guess so, and it is my only vice! I'm ready to cut down a bit more as I lose more weight, ready to cut it out completely when we decide start trying for baby #2!! I just count it as two of my allowable three daily treats on weekends, which is why it doesn't do too much damage.

Well, for me if I have one glass of wine I want three. So I'd rather not even have one!
