Getting mentally prepared for going back to the keto WOE... I am a little nervous and I don’t know why... I know it works for me, I know my relationship with food changed. I also now know that it became a slight obsession, but not unhealthy, a new hobby maybe? Learning, getting inspiration, giving inspiration and supporting others while losing weight was a really fun thing for me, I definitely need that distraction right now. I have been a stressed out mess for 6 weeks... I feel like so have aged in 6 weeks. Stress is toxic to a healthy life. So here it is... my goals and plan!

Tonight I plan to review my previous meals I liked best, see what I need to buy to have a nice variety so I don’t get bored, make a meal plan and grocery list. I need to keep myself busy around the house... no boredom eating. I have plenty of cleaning and organizing to do this week! I need to take several days to get myself feeling relaxed again... yoga, baths, face masks, massages, maybe a few walks and coffee with friends.

Rain is coming again, After the Thomas Fire and Mudslides we really don’t want this rain, but Cali needs it. ☹️ so I have started filling our emergency kits, extra food, extra lanterns and batteries, lots of water, restocked all the first aid supplies and this week I am buying a camping stove and fuel since we need ways to cook in case of power outages. Being prepared has lowered my anxiety... we knew the fires would be bad because of the drought but the back up water generators didn’t work and that hindered the extinguishing of the flames when it started and this area hadn’t burned for a long time, there was way too much fuel. We knew the rain would bring mudslides but we didn’t expect the main water reservoir to bust and dump an extra 9millions of water into montecito. We in Cali know there can be a major earthquake at any time... it’s so much better to be prepared. I would rather be extra super cautious than sorry!

Oh yeah... dropped a little weight 💁‍♀️ woot woot. Motivating me to get back to keto and see bigger drops!!!
145.9 lb Lost so far: 21.8 lb.    Still to go: 23.9 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

@8patty. We are home. Running air purifiers nonstop and constantly cleaning all surfaces due to major smoke and ash damage. Just getting prepared for the rain that’s coming again, since all the mountains burnt surrounding our little town 😱 but I sleep better knowing we are prepared!

Nutrition isn’t a bad obsession for a mom with kids. I did fairly well with mine, but learned even more after they were gone and I had to do this huge loss and start keto.🤷🏻‍♀️My family has always been hypoglycemic, insulin resistent and diabetic so I raised them as very aware of sugars and carbs as I was. The biggest changes coming out now I think are debunking the fat myth that eating fat will make you fat. And that sugars are okay if you don’t eat fat.🤦🏻‍♀️ So go with the flow. Get a healthy WOE set up and get yourself back into a happy place. 🙋🏻‍♀️ If you meditate there is an app called insight timer out on the web with music and guided yoga and meditation routines of all kinds. Take care.🙆🏻

@JNYZ18 I suggest keeping your electrolytes up using Sole salt Solution. Super affordable and natural, just a mix of Himalayan pink salt and filtered water! Plan meals, snacks and always bring keto friendly foods places like gatherings and parties. Because that’s always hard to be around a social food gathering with no yummy options. Switch things up, try not to eat the same foods day in and day out. Try not to be hard on yourself either because weight will fluctuate and it seems scary but if you’re measuring, eating keto and logging regularly you will see the trend of about six pounds, it comes and goes but after a week you will see your loss. Eat only when hungry and try the intermittent fasting start with 14 hours of not eating and go from there. Do you have any specific questions? I was only keto for 3 months but I lost 27lbs... gained some back during the Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudslide... butttttt I do plan to start back up full keto tomorrow or possibly Wednesday, depending on when I can get to Costco!

@smprowett my kids aren’t huge junk food eaters, very healthy, petite and active. I homeschool and health and nutrition/cooking is something we cover often, they know that Mom needs less carbs because she isn’t as active as them, and her metabolism is different since she is 31yo not 4 or 9. They are the only kids that will eat only half of a cupcake at a party because it’s too sweet.

You are great! 🙋🏻 Mine as well! They watered their juice and would switch out from pop after 1 or 2 glasses, and only eat one bun OR fries, not both. 🙆🏻‍♀️My parents did such a poor job with passing down a love of veggetable because they were of the war years and were in love with everything canned and overcooked. I learned it all in my own kitchen in self defense to try to stay healthy. 🤷🏻‍♀️I love hearing about kids being raised with good info! I watched my kids scout friends and school mates bring sugar laden ‘juice concentrates’ and snacks to school and just cringed.💁🏻‍♀️So many of them were sabotaged with hyperactive behavior before they even started the day!

@smprowett funny/sad story, my sister got a call to come to the schools office to discuss something, they claimed she was under feeding him because he had smoked salmon, spinach, nuts, seaweed, fresh fruit, homemade granola and water in his lunch. They were concerned he didn’t have enough food... I swear all the other kids just have a “go gurt”, fruit gummies, gold fish and Oreos...

OMG! The office had the GALL! Did the talk to the fricken nurse! My kid’s pediatrician would have been ecstatic! He hated school lunches! LOL 🙋🏻‍♀️
