Well, nothing will convince you that your $20 digital scale from Walmart is broken like losing 4.8 lbs in a week. LOL! Just like I thought I lost more than 0.8 lbs last week, I know I didn't lose 4.8 lbs this week. So what, it's a downward trend and it's working, right. Just completed the first 4 weeks of Nutrisystem, have lost just over 12 lbs according to my clown scale. I'm happy with that.

It's funny that my body has totally gotten used to living off about 1300-1400 calories a day. While I almost never have that FULL feeling, I'm almost never really hungry either. Sometimes I just eat because according to the plan it's time, even though I could take it or leave it.

Went to a Chinese buffet since last weigh in, that was a challenge, and frankly a bit depressing. Had a few small pieces of chicken and shrimp (nothing breaded) and a truckload of broccoli. It was really good if somehow a little unemotionally satisfying... not to mention way too much to pay for a bunch of broccoli. LOL

My one real Nutrisystem complaint is that their food doesn't prep you for the real world. They do teach portion control for sure, which is great. It's a big part of the battle. But eating cookies and snack bars in between meals that all have no more than 150 calories with 5+g fiber and 5+g protein just doesn't happen off their plan. As much as I want Chips Ahoy to be that healthy, they're not. When I eventually transition off the plan, I know replacing those things with healthy alternatives will be a real challenge. First things first though, still 36 lbs to go, but that though keeps rattling around in my head.
226.0 lb Lost so far: 12.0 lb.    Still to go: 36.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

It does get to me that, when I go out to eat with family and friends, that the prices for what I eat seem exorbitant for what I get. I remind myself that I'm there for the social interaction and not the food- that seems to help me refocus.
