surgery cancelled, to be rescheduled..IF...I can find someone to drive my back the hour hour it took to get down there. APPEARANTLY, they (for liability lawyer BS) don't want someone driving after anesthesia, of course I thought it would be locally, in/out done thing, as that is what the doctor was talking about a few weeks ago but in the phone in preregistration on Friday they said full out-light-a-light anesthesia, so I had just the weekend to find someone in a town where I have no friends, know no one, no family and the clock's ticking. can you say 'crash and burn'? ...I knew you could <done in his best mr rogers voice> 

because it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood... 

they won't accept a car service? If not a car service alone (which many might not agree to for liability reasons), they might agree to someone taking a cab home with you. I know they don't do it in NYC, but for instance, in Portland OR, if you have OHP, need a medical procedure which makes driving unwise afterwards, you can get OHP to transport you. Maybe your health plan has something like that? Other people suggest getting someone from your church.  

Hope you can find someone. Craigslist? A church friend would be best if you go. Oh and weight fluctuates through the week so try to stick to weighing once a week at the same time with the same clothing or not. 

cabs/busses/etc...they claim liability issues, they are responsible.  

there are medical transport services, but for that distance...I CAN'T AFFORD IT! IT'S 40 MILES! I checked already... <8@ 

did you check with the insurance company.
