mars2kids's Journal, 10 August 2015

I struggled with food over the weekend. I ate pizza, I haven't eaten pizza in about 3 months and it was amazing, and we went out to eat and I had onion rings and they were also amazing. The downside of eating junk for me is that I pay for it for days afterward. This is why I started the low FODMAP diet and I need to think about that the next time I want to eat pizza and onion rings. Today I'm going to try to eat low FODMAP and really begin again. This is TMI, but I feel like I've been in the bathroom all day and I just feel run down. I'm actually going to track my weight more often for a while and see how much it fluctuates when I'm feeling good and bad. I've been going up and down about 4 lbs. either way.

On the exercise side of things I didn't do well over the weekend either. I did get a couple of walks in and a little gardening, but that's it. We've been busy getting ready for back to school and getting some things done around the house, so I've been pushing the exercise to the back burner. I want to try to start getting up early to exercise. If I can get in to a good routine with that I know it will help.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and your Monday is off to a great start!

You should be proud of yourself. I will offer, however... That if you are really serious about shedding some extra pounds you may want to check into a LCHF (Keto) WOE. I was right where you are, pal... Keeping my calories low, eating whole foods, the whole nine. I maybe took off 10 lbs. Total in about a year. It was very defeating to not see more progress. Then in June, I decided that I needed to cut carbs and started researching keto. Imade up my mind that I was going to focus on this through the summer and I have shed 23 lbs in 2 1/2 months!! The weight is just the cherry on top of everything else that has improved for me. You might want to check it out!! Feel free to ask me about if if you want to know more!! Best of luck!!

Mary, your kids are your priority. Mom's should put them first and it's a busy time. Take a breath, relax and follow your plan the best you can, make good choices. You have been doing so well. Just keep chugging away but don't beat yourself up if your family priorities take up time, one person can only do so much. I often simply run out of time and energy to follow through with exercise, and I have no children at home, grew up on me.
