About a month ago I lost my sister & a few days later, my brother. It really got to me losing them both so close together. I started eating to relieve my pain. I just put health out of my mind. I did not weigh or worry about my clothes getting tighter. Then one morning about 10 days ago I did weigh. 243, I had gained 13 lbs. in about 3 weeks. Common sense finally entered my mind again. That day I started a Low Carb Keto Diet. I have now lost 8 lbs in 10 days. I will continue to eat healthy and try to get to my target goal of 210.
235.0 lb Lost so far: 40.0 lb.    Still to go: 40.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Tuff stuff, it's a good thing you got your wits about you now, being overweight only adds to the problems. Stay strong. My condolences.

I've started the same diet, good to hear that you've had results. My condolences on your losses. It is hard to not reach out for comfort foods. I have learned there are many comfort types of dishes on the Low Carb diets.

So sorry for your losses! I can't imagine. I'm an emotional eater, so I can appreciate using food to numb the pain. Great job on your come-back, though! You didn't let your setback stop you for long...very commendable!

Sad to hear of your siblings. Grief is difficult. Talking and sharing your feelings helps - eating is only temporary relief. Glad you are back to taking care of your slef.

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I don't even know what to say except that it is okay to grieve and let go during such a time (in my opinion). I don't think I'd be able to stick with anything if that happened to me. Just put in the back of your mind that when you feel better, you will do better, and let yourself go through the process of grief as you need to.
