I found what made me lose weight was drinking water. Often, since it is not automatic and I have to think about it each time I need fluid, I forget to drink. This is where the need for routine in autism comes into play. And I have a hard time recognizing when I am thirsty. I don't recognize it until my mouth gets dry and my voice starts to crack. I eat at set times, so that does not become a problem. But I have a hard time with recognizing thirst.

I understand a bit about the lack of thirst issue. I’ve had to eat by the clock since mid-20s, but drank plenty of water, over a gallon daily no problem. Until I got the virus late 2021. Now I have to drink by the clock, as well. Good luck getting a handle on that!
