Breaking fast today with bone broth around noon, then liver and onions a couple hours later. Liver has been soaking in buttermilk all night. Have been dreaming about it for days 😅 Hubby won't eat it, so I will be eating it all weekend. Also, raspberries are ripening in the yard, so will be eating those. Fasting is going well. No muscle cramps or headache. Not supplementing with any salts or electrolytes, just drinking water to thirst and letting my kidneys balance everything out. Much gratitude to my fasting buddies ❤ Shout out to YOH, who suggested logging my "off track" meals ahead of eating them. I was thinking of eating a big bowl of something crunchy from the grain family and logged 800 kcal. Um, no thanks. Delete, delete, delete 😆

I like to do that too, log before I eat something and think about it. Is it worth it, am I hungry, do I really need it. Saved me from going over my calories yesterday.

Liver is SO beneficial. I wish I could stomach it...lol. Great job with the fasting, sis, and checking in on how much your next meal will cost you in advance!!! How many hours will you be ending on?

It will be 113-114 hours. I wanted to work up to the 7 days a bit, and I feel good about it 🙂 Will do the 48 starting Sunday night (will probably break that one Wed morning instead of Tues evening). Then will veg it up the rest of the week (goal to get in some fresh salads).

I love liver n onions too......and I was just drooling over Storms Girl pic of chicken liver n onions. I have beef liver in the freezer and a whole table top of vidalia onions, that will be on next weeks menu since I won't be fasting next week in prep of the Waning Moon EF 😁

I don't liver either though I did like my mom's liver. She could make it taste like steak.

I wonder what your mom did. The iron taste can be offputting.

Yes, my fasting inspiration. I have company coming tonight, so I think I'll wait til they're gone. I'm going to do a short fast to flex my fasting mojo ahead of the 7 day fast we're starting on the 9th.

On the subject of liver. I''ve been cooking calf liver about once a week sauteed in bacon fat, bacon and onions - lightly cooked. My husband and I can only eat about 2/3 of the 1 lb package, so I've been making pate out of the rest. Just mix the liver and onions in the food processor with some fat - good mayo or cream cheese, plus hard boiled eggs or cooked veggies. It is delicious and a good way to use leftover liver. It makes a nice meal or snack on romaine lettuce leaves.

Thank you, Erika. I have been wanting a really good reason to purchase a food processor and this is it 🙂. What a great idea!

Nice drop BTW!

Yes, Lady, Nice drop! Super job! 👏👏👏 I got so caught up by the liver that I overlooked your loss.

Thanks. Save your money and don't buy liver! No reason to make yourself choke down offals you find distasteful. It's enough your "gut buddies" have you eating cabbage and broccoli 😅

No, Lady, I really want to try it with cauliflower rice. My grandma used to cook it in rice back in the days when most kids had to eat what was cooked, or not eat at all. I really enjoyed the rice off of it. Might be pretty good with the cauliflower rice. 🤔

I LOVE liver and it’s excellent for you. I eat it frequently. So are raspberries, nice you have some growing in your yard! You are blessed. I’m in AR now, but in Iowa, my home state, we had blackberries, raspberries, apple and pear 🍐 trees, and two huge rhubarb bushes. We kids when out playing literally ALL day would just eat the fruit for a snack! Lol Those were the days. 🥹

Storms, I love that! SIL moving to her first house in New London IA. Now I am inspired to bring her some of our raspberries for her new yard ❤

Hey lady im glad that little trick works for you!!! Ive never tried fasting and mean this very respectfully, why do a 7 day fast?
30 Jun 23 by member: Yearofhealth2023
YOH, I originally planned it for 5 days and when one of my buddies said she would likely extend it to 7 days, I figured, "what's two more days?" and decided to join her. I am fasting for weight loss, autophagy, and reset of my microbiome. Longer fasts will facilitate faster weight loss.
