Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 23 June 2023

Walked 9 miles yesterday and one hour workout with trainer and weight is up. Have to force myself to force myself to get more protein i guess. Walked 5 miles this am will do another 5 tonight. Just a note for myself. I got asked by my friend of 30 years if i liked being this skinny yesterday. Hahaha. It’s been so long since he saw me at this weight he forgot what i used to look like. We are definitely getting old. My white boy is back on injured reserve. Still having issues with the pads on his front paws so just me and the little black monster on these walks. Pretty impressive tho. He walked 9 miles with me yesterday and ran 7 miles with hubs and hes just a little 22 pound monster. It’s the husky in him i guess. Bandit.🥰. Love those boys.

Also grainier told me my shoulders are weak im holding myself in bad position when doing planks. See below if you are like middle picture no bueno. Supposed to look like last picture which is my trainer. Much harder that way. So i was cheating even without trying to cheat. Must work on form.

Ah use back muscles. that'll be like my sewing teacher showing me how to access my thumb muscle using 12 inch shears; starts out unco but allows for much greater stamina. I don't think you're going to wear the husky out. :D I think he'll wear you and hubby out first. go you!

Ah bubs he actually got tired by the time he hit 15 miles. First time ever. He’s such a champion. Today we stopped at the elementary school and would pose him like a racehorse and send him back and forth to mommy and daddy. Probably around 1/6 mile each way and then watch him run like the wind. He’s really really fast. Getting ready to go back out on second 5 mile walk in a few. See how i do. He will probably be unfazed.

i had a crossbreed of two purebreds, kelpie and heading. If he got tired at 10 miles today, that only meant he'd get tired at 15 miles tomorrow, and 20 miles the day after. went like greased lightning. could eat up the land. The only way to survive was to take him to a dog park where people were throwing balls with ball throwers. He wouldn't chase the ball and retrieve - oh no. He'd just chase the dogs trying to round them up. The only thing capable of exercising him adequately was another kelpie.

We just got back. He got sick 1/2 mile from home but i think it was cuz he ate grass. They have such a way of worming their hearts into our hearts. Ive had animals since i was a baby. I feel very fortunate🥰. Glad to be back home?

yes adnd no, it was another world down there. and now I'm right back into year end, balance sheets, and god knows what else. my job is a horror story. I currently have 2 cats. the dog wasn't mine... heh. was my daughter's best friend's, they had lived with me since the puppy was a baby, and when they moved they couldn't get a flat that would take a dog so I had him for another year or more after that. Cats are wonderful (I have 2) but nothing like dogs. Dogs are your best friend, and you know it 24/7.

Where did you go. On vacay? I have had in my life the following pets: cats, dogs, prairie dog, hummingbird, parakeet and horse. At one time i had a rescue cat a collie and a thoroughbred off track. I was broke, single (pre-child) and so so happy. And yep, you’re right 24/7. Although my moms cat would play fetch and would throw a huge ball of yarn back at you and would climb in his tree house as high as you told him which was amazing to see. Very dog like. He was a feral cat my daughter rescued and lived with my mom. When she passed her good friend took him in and he goes on walks with them in the country nightly like a dog. So amazing.

I went to Christchurch, which is 1/3 of the way down our south island. about a 55 minute plane flight. My pets have really been cats, some rabbits, I've had chickens but that was for eggs, had a guinea pig, and highland steers for the freezer, sheep for the freezer. kind of part time pets... cattle are very like dogs and highland cattle, with their shaggy heads and their insane horns, are hilarious and affectionate. Never had a cat that would fetch, although one of my cats would go outside when told if she came in with a rabbit or a mouse. I don't know if that means she was brighter than the others, or dumber. Otherwise the three girls I had on the lifestyle block would feast under the dining table in the middle of the night while we slept and we'd wake to back ends of mice, birds, rats, rabbits... sigh.

Weird, you only see this post when you click your journal. Otherwise it was just showing weight up. Cute pup, he’s chubby!!!

How would a typical person know that about the back muscles? Watching videos and reading books will help get the ball rolling, but it's still my interpretation of that movement or exercise. I see here I will need to hire a professional at some point. Probably a hundred pounds from now. Thank you for sharing. I never would have thought of this on my own 🤔

What’s happening here is she’s letting her shoulders relax as you can see her scapulas protrusion and the weight his resting on the joints. What the trainer is doing is engaging the shoulders and chest to support the weight. Which makes it more efficient at working more muscles. She even rounds her back more to stress the abs more. So her form is more efficient at strengthening the muscles.

Super, you mentioned the pic not showing up on the app so I clicked the profile out of curiosity. I wonder what causes that and if is a syncing issue, so will show up later. It's the same with deleted comments. I have to delete them at the journal level, the community level (sometimes twice), and even at the desktop level. This is probably a question for sk. Anyway, thanks fir mentioning it because I learned something.

Maybe my journal got hacked🤪. Or maybe it’s because i weigh first and then write in journal? My chubby puppy is all muscle brother and a ton of fur. He’s like a miniature Superman. Lady, when i started doing planks the way she was saying it was much much harder. It was the first time she realized what was happening because i usually wear a bulky top but i was so hot that day. Bubbs, i asked daddy manatee this question, isn’t it hard to eat them when they were dog like (the cattle and the sheep?). I saw an animal cruelty documentary 30 years ago in Miami it was a global doc and that was the last time i ever had anything with four legs for food. (Except bone broth which i have to force myself to drink for protein post surgery). I grew up on meat and i do miss it but what i saw changed me.

The pics and journal entry are on the app now, but the weigh in looks different. It shows your weight and total loss to date, but not the net change from your previous weigh in. This is my theory: you entered your weight on the app. You created your journal entry on the desktop. Later, when you opened the app again, they synced and the journal w pics, comments, and weight summary now replaces the weight entry we saw earlier. Or magic. I understand tech as well as I understand magic.

Well i did gain a pound so maybe thats it too? Tho it’s gone today. Ive been struggling with the same 1-2 pounds for weeks so i started adding a second 4-5 mile walk in the pm a couple of days ago to try and get it moving.
