Veritas1958's Journal, 22 January 2015

My set of scales are a worry. The kitchen floor has boards, and the scales show different weights at different spots on the floor. I have nowhere to permanently leave it. My original weigh-in weight of 116 was confirmed by scales elsewhere. Now my scales are showing 114.4, which I know can't be right. My trousers are still tight on me.
254.4 lb Lost so far: 1.3 lb.    Still to go: 82.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

All scales do that. You just have to pick one spot (the most level and hard surface) and leave it there. What kind of flooring is in the bathroom? You have to pick one scale as your "official" scale. Every scale can weigh you something different because of calibration and flooring. They should all be within a few pounds of each other. You need same scale (in same place) with same clothes, same day, same time, same everything for the most accurate gauge of weight loss. If the bathroom has a hard level surface, put it in there and weigh in the morning before eating or drinking and after going to the bathroom. You can also put an object you know the weight of on the scale to test the accuracy in the spot you chose (like 2 hand weights).
