I am so disgusted with myself. I feel over run with the urge and need to eat, and defeat myself.
I lost 30lbs and since Thanksgiving I’ve gained 15 back. It’s like I don’t want people to know I succeeded losing the weight, so I’ll put it back on.
I’m a junk food eater to start with and I’m eating ice cream when I’m by myself, cookies and everything imaginable. Like if no one sees me eat it i won’t gain weight.
Does anyone have suggestions???

I'm the same way. I don't keep any junk food in the house - that takes care of the hours at home. At work is a different story - they stock the kitchen with all kinds of snacks for us. While that is very nice of them - it is not good for my weight loss journey. So I cleaned up the kitchen at work - put all the snacks in cabinets with labels on the doors so other coworkers knew where they were. This way they were out of sight when I walk in there and its much less tempting. The funny part is that they complimented how good the kitchen looks and they think I'm some sort of neat freak now LOL!

The first thing is to get that stuff out of the house. Get some snacks that are healthy, Starkist Tuna pouches are a good go to and are filling at only 90 calories with 3-5 crackers (the sweet and spicy is one of my favs). Log EVERYTHING so you know where to cut back. One day at a time is key. I log in a week's worth of food, measure, weigh and have it ready to go. There are alot of great recipes on this site. Just made the spicy chicken and it is absolutely the best. It hits your sweet tooth as well without the guilt.

I agree, just don't buy it. and if you do binge just try to get moving and forget it. the mental is the hardest part! I started at 241 and the only way I have made it here to 207 is by saying no, not buying sweets for the house, and giving myself small rewards for little or big wins.

I put the cookies IN the ice cream and really try to jazz it up a bit. A little PB, maybe a graham cracker or two... I can take a 400 calories serving size and make it 800. Oh wait- That's not the suggestion you are looking for. I hate the "Don't buy it" advice. I want to tell you to just have some in moderation but I can also say that if I didn't keep PB in the house, I'd probably weigh 30 pounds less. So if you cannot do moderation, then that may be best. It sucks that the calories eaten alone still count and the ones in the car driving. I hope you can find something that works for you and not lose all your progress! Good luck!!

I too love, love, love junk food. Even when dieting, I pretty much eat an 85% dark chocolate bar every day (keto friendly, low carb-high fat). Even then, I’ll hit a spot, where I eat everything (lol). We have a cabinet drawer in our house where my wife keeps 4 or 5 milk chocolate bars, treats, and chips. Sometimes I’ll clean it out, but the key for me, is when it’s gone, I’m done. Yeah, it will slowly restock, but that’s my mental cut off. So I guess, I’m saying don’t beat yourself up for occasionally giving into your cravings. just know that you are in the weight loss for the long run

My favorite healthy sub for sweets are baked oats!! You can do chocolate pb, cinnamon roll, or cookie dough. The possibilities are endless!! And there are hundreds of recipes on Pinterest!! Everyone binges sometimes it’s all about how you get back on track! You got this❤️

Popcorn, nuts, dark chocolate, fruit, sun chips, frozen yogurt, protein bars are good junk food substitutes. You should look up recipes (healthy versions) of your fav sweets and bake them yourself🙂

Yes, I emphasize. I am doing a flexible carnivore diet. Usually I overeat junk food when I feel so hungry. And usually that means I am not satiated and/or missing nutrients. So I started eating what I craved for but did not allow myself because it appeared to be “unhealthy” like beef 🥩 steak and other proteins. I ate and stopped when I was full. Few days later, I switched to beef 🥩 patties and stopped when I was full. And again I switched later. I never restricted my junk food. I would eat those too. But eventually I was drawn more to the meat. I am in the beginning stages. I feel so great. I feel not hungry after meals. I don’t have cravings for junk food. So I wanted to answer your call for suggestions. ( Carnivore Diet, Keto Diet, Dukan Diet ) Are great reading materials to start.

You can do it! You lost 30 pounds which is awesome, so you know you can do this. I am exactly like you. I lose and then gain it back but you may want to try: writing down how you are feeling before reaching for the ice cream; instead of eating when you get the urge, maybe some type of exercise when you feel like that; have fruit or sweet veggies around or maybe nuts; maybe you can keep different types of yogurt around for the times ice cream is calling to you (they have flavors like creamcycle, etc). You might try popcorn and nuts sprinkled on top instead of ice cream. I know for myself, I need to keep sweets out of sight. But, if you do eat ice cream, recommend putting a certain amount in a small bowl. You get the taste of the ice cream but in a limited portion. You've got this!

SUGAR is what causes hunger. 7 tsp sugar in Healthy Choice and Lean cuisine tv dinners. Stop eating anything that comes in box or bag(chips, etc). (Frozen chicken in bag is ok, skinless). No starches, except 1 slice WW bread. I'm losing 1.4 pounds a week since March.

I agree with Berthhause! Don't put that kind of junk in your house. Also my nutritionist says when you crave sweets, chocolate in particular, eat a good fat. ( like apples with a Tsp of peanut butter or avacodo toast etc..) for other sweets grab a protein. I sometimes eat tuna or a price of grilled chicken or even a built bar occasionally. It does work...

Thank you to all comments. I truly needed this, today is going to be a hard one. Some really good suggestions, cookies, ice cream, Crackers and dips of any kind are triggers for me. Thanks again for the tips and encouragement.

Do not buy junk. When you have the urge to snack, exercise and drink tons of water. Mint gum can also help with any hunger pangs.

Les Girth had the best suggestion 😂😂

I love ice cream and salty smacks. But the carb diet say NO!! I use frozen grapes and berries and watermelon for sweets. Hard cheese, cheese crips and nuts for salty. Water and a huge dose of protein at dinner helps to.
