AzureRaven's Journal, 02 October 2020

Well, that is disheartening! Perhaps the full moon drove my decision to head to our local drive-in for a vanilla soft serve ice cream or maybe it was just not having had any sugar for 3 weeks but really..2 pounds up?! It was still within my calories for the day! I had tried to stave off the sweet tooth with yams and beets at lunch to no avail. Does this happen to anyone else? Any insights are welcome as I am floored by this.

Do you Weigh yourself the same time of day? I can fluctuate 2 pounds heavier at the day’s end as opposed to morning! Could be water, salty food, time of month, etc.

Also as long as the overall trend is downward, ( look at month instead of weekly)- just record the gain and keep moving forward. You got this!

Thanks GibJib! I hop on the scale in the morning first thing every day, mostly to start out the day with intention and have the mindset of self awareness...which turned a little dark this morning to say the least. I may just do something else to start my days and just do a weekly weigh in.

Don’t fret. Go back and look at your sodium intake. Foods sometime have a large amount of sodium even in foods you’d never think of. Preferably don’t add additional salt which can play havoc with weight gain. Drink plenty of water to help dilute salt in your system Also add lemon to your water. Keep your chin up - you were doing great

Irishdancer126 I think you may be onto something! I went back over my food log and, although I cook everything from scratch, some of those ingredients were sodium rich (salted almonds, feta, maybe the chicken broth in my chili but I need to check). I appreciate the feedback because this is really new for me and I want to succeed.

I use Atkins Sweet and Salty bites and Premier Protein shakes to curb my sweet tooth. Both are available at Wal-Mart and Amazon.
