-Trying to get healthy. I refuse to diet ever again. Now I'm interested in health and a lifestyle that promotes it.

-Here to track calories (portion sizes) and to look at pictures of your food for inspiration & ideas. Taking pictures of my food helps me "see" how much I'm eating & true portions sizes.

-Omnivore/Flexitarian who eats meat 2-3 times a week & vegetarian the rest. I love international cuisines & travel.

-Followed diets before (I'm good at losing 50 pounds!) but then I crash & burn, regaining it plus more. (Attempt #1: 236 to 189 -- boomerang to 262. Fast forward to a couple years later. Attempt #2: 262 to 210 -- boomerang to 292). Having the scale land on 300 at the doctor's office on June 5, 2020 was the final straw. I googled "free calorie counter apps" and found FatSecret.

-There are no cheat days or forbidden foods in my new Way of Eating (WoE) - just days where I make choices that I won't make every day. Food is not inherently good or bad. There is no reason to feel regret or guilt over food choices. Sometimes I go over my suggested calories for the day. It justs means I need to get back to my mindful WoE tomorrow.

Start weight: 300 pounds (June 5 2020 Doc Appt).

Goal 1: Make better choices today.
(I meet my #1 goal every day if I want to!)

Goal 2: 290 -10 (July 2 2020 Doc Appt - Accomplished!)
Goal 3: 280 -20 (July 28 2020 - Accomplished!)

Goal 3: 270 -30 - Loss of 10% starting weight
Goal 4: 250 -50
Goal 5: 230 -70
Goal 6: 210 -90
Goal 7: 200 -100

There are no time limits for these goals. This is life & they will be accomplished eventually. So grab your compass and forget your watch. Knowing where you're going and heading in the right direction is more important than the time it takes to get there!
And finally: forgiveness, grace, & compassion for oneself and all others. Be Kind.
