I am frustrated - I tested positive for COVID and was placed on lockdown. No gym, no cardio, no access to the outdoors other than my deck. I had to cancel a very important and meaningful family memorial for my dad which is the real sting in this process. I have had no symptoms and I am finally at the end of my restriction. I have been trying to do the home exercise thing and stay in some kind of routine to maintain my flexibility and fitness. Once I am free I am going back to the gym to get back into the cardio routine. This is all ridiculous - my wife tested negative (which was a whole other ordeal to get her tested as we were asymptomatic) and I could not get a retest based on her testing negative to validate the original test. There has been no actual scientific process in monitoring me and my condition other than random phone calls from nonclinical clerks asking how I "feel" from the county. I am grateful that we have been able to remain busy and I have all of my needs met. I am looking forward to regaining a small piece of my freedom back this weekend. It hs been a long 3 weeks and I am looking forward to having this experience behind me. I hope that you are all well and finding a way to stay positive in this "new Normal"

sorry you went through that. This testing is so confusing . I am confined because of age and medical conditions and miss going shopping and just seeing people. Hang in there.😷😉

Hang in there.

You did the right thing. You protected others. You can request an antibody test if you want confirmation you really had it but were asymptomatic. Covid 19 Antibodies stay in your blood for 60-90 days. The contact tracing sounds lacking in your area. My coworker got it from his wife who got it from her work back in April. The health department called them every day for 2 weeks straight. How’s your sense of taste & smell?

Good job handling it the right why even when inconvenient. You may have saved someone’s life in the process.

Sorry for what you are going through. I stay home a lot unless I definitely have to go out, due to age and medical conditions. I do miss seeing people, but all we can do is hang in there and Bsafe

GibJig - Thanks for the thought - however my experience here is that noone will do that test (DoD, VA or the county - and we called and asked (even offered to pay out of pocket) and every agency pints to the other to say they are the lead) as I have no symptoms and was not hospitalized. the contact tracing worked as it was designed - that is how I got removed from work. I have had zero symptoms and showed no signs. I appreciate your comments.

That’s a shame. I got the antibody test because I had traveled to Asia in December/January before the disease was really known. You can call a private doc off base and not use the military health care service. Another way to get a test is to donate blood to the American Red Cross. They test your blood for free! Regardless, thank you for your service - both in uniform - AND in quarantining as the highest level of precaution, even at expense of personal sacrifice of your fathers memorial. It is your thinking of others that makes us think so highly of you!!

It may seem that things are not going your way at the moment, But just keep in mind, your father will always be apart of your heart, the gym will be there hopefully, if you live in a house you can go outside , just put your mask on and sit and relax. There are so many people that have not been as blessed as you have. Count your blessing and be thankful that your wife did not have Covid-19 . You two are very very blessed...Have a great day and go finish what you had started and be blessed in it. Good luck...

I am waiting for my positive covid test result, I have not taken the test yet, but I heard that was not a requirement.

so sorry you couldn't attend your father's memorial.

So sorry for the loss of your father! Sounds like you are directly feeling some of the changes needing to be made in the funeral industry these days to reasonably protect as many as possible. Many funerals are being live webcast these days? Enjoy your freedom soon And thank you for your service Sir! 🇺🇸

It’s a blessing you had no symptoms-a lot of people can’t say the same

Wishing you the best at this time! I'll share that I just love the exercise videos on YouTube. Unless you have YouTube on your television you may have to throw your computer somewhere that gives you a little room to move, but you don't need much room. I adore the Body Project low impact videos, but there are many.

Thank you for isolating🙌 I know it was frustrating being asymptotic, but you saved lives by staying 🏡❤️💜💜

Mooserus ! Just make sure you stay in tune with your body and watch for any changes, if you had any symptons with the covid-19,When to seek emergency medical attention Look for emergency warning signs* for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately: Trouble breathing Persistent pain or pressure in the chest New confusion Inability to wake or stay awake Bluish lips or face *This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you. You have serve this country and now it is time that you make sure you get the best service for yourself. God Bless you.

I just don't understand how an asymptomatic could spread the virus... It doesn't make sense in my head. As far as I understand any symptoms is the body's response to fight the infection. Right? 🤔

Like they’ve been saying this since February / March. High number of infections rate, low number of critical responses rate. Like the flu season.

Politicized fake pandemic medical reporting made you another victim. Others I know said they received notice that they were diagnosed positive when not even tested! Keep perserving and don't drink the FNM (Fake News Media) koolaid.

ps. Many people don't know that this FLU only has a .47% death rate! Info stats from my representative's email.

When you are able to go out go give blood (plasma or platelets ) at the Red Cross. They (at least in my community) automatically test all the donors for covid antibodies. You can donate platelets every 8 days and plasma every 28 days. You can save lives through your donations and take care of your own health at the same time. Stay safe !
