skinnyminilinny's Journal, 22 February 2020

Yesterday my husband did some grocery shopping and bought a bunch of junk food for me as a gift, thinking I'd be happy about that. LOL. I love biscotti and so he bought some, I love sausage with my eggs, and of course he made some. I like to nibble on nuts, so he bought a couple bags of Trail Mix. He's always thinking of me and wants me to be happy so he buys me stuff. I can't say much about it because he gets so much enjoyment out of pleasing me. I gained a whole pound eating stuff I shouldn't have.

I am up 1 lb. I'll have to watch myself today. We just finished praying and I thank God for such a wonderful husband. Not only is he a Godly Man, but he is also a man of character and well trained in the word of God himself. That's why God gave him to me and me to him, for the responsibility to start Bible schools, to train and to raise up ministers. We are a 501 c 3 Corporation.

Yea. It’s tough to remind people you don’t want to use food as a reinforcer. Next time ask him to buy you a dvd or cd or book. Also my wife buys me food she thinks I want because she wants a snack and feels guilty eating alone. I love her but want to remind her that she is the reward and the food is a punishment. Good job posting this. Keep up the fight and the love.

You can enjoy your treats in moderation. Not necessarily all on the same day 😊 Remind your husband of your goals & ask for his support in achieving them.

It's hard to retrain the brain. I grew up in a family that food showed love. Here sounds like a great husband.

Yeah he's a great husband and I know he loves me. He does not like to snack in front of me🍰so he always puts it down on my tray while he's eating his snacks (guilt). I have asked him to not make meals out of snacks. LOL. It's one thing if it's just once a day, but after going to the store he had a whole pile of stuff. He grew up eating lots of snacks and drinking soda everyday. We were not 🍭🍬🍫🍰given to that kind of indulgence. My dad took us to the dentist twice a year, so sugar was a big no, no (unless it was ice cream), soda was only a special treat when we went to the A&W Root Beer Stand. 🍻I am not tempted by the stuff if I don't buy it and I don't see it. Out of sight out of mind. I'll give it to my kids tomorrow when I see them.🍩I have told him that sugar is a poison to me and so are unhealthy carbs. I will have to put up a sign. He says he forgets. It's been a year since I had a biscotti, and chips. I don't need chips either. So I would say, it is in moderation. Anyway, I'll just tell him to hide his stuff in the garage and don't tell me about it. LOL. That should work.😄🍫 thanks for listening. Sorry for complaining.
