145.0... my (in my opinion) "set point" number. The number I hover around way too often.

I'm trying to make sure I'm right at the 2,000 calorie mark each day. I want my loss to be slow and steady. So I'm surprised (in a good way!) that in my first week and a half of this experiment I've lost nearly 3 lbs. It was supposed to be half a pound per week. What I don't want to happen is to lose a bunch really quickly and then get stuck b/c my body thinks it's starving or something.

Also, I was thinking about how Allicat lost her weight... she didn't join an expensive gym, she WALKED. So simple, yet clearly effective for her!!! So I'm parking my car about a 1/2 mile from my classroom and walking to and from. Not much, but at least it is something I can easily work into my schedule.

Today is the first day of "No Spend September". I literally did a Rite Aid run last night at 930 PM so I could do a deal before I couldn't! Got $47 worth of stuff for $4... not too shabby! Mostly Tide and Purex laundry detergent so at least I can say it was stuff we NEED. :)

Today I am grateful for...
1) A 1 hour early dismissal from work on Friday to start the long weekend
2) Classmates who share notes when yours are less than stellar
3) Fat Secret friends and the insight their journals bring me to my own issues and trials in weight loss and in life

Enjoy your Wednesday friends! :)

Oh thank you for the shout out. Reminding me that I have to start walking again. There are so many different things that you can do to add walking into your day. Park further away from everything. The mall, the grocery store (then walk the cart back to the store not one of those cart corrals), take the stairs, take the dogs out once more a day instead of letting them run around the yard. So simple, and look 3 lbs for you!! Your body wanted to let go of the weight, you just had to be ready to. I'm so proud of you Christina :)

Chris, do your supermarkets accept internet coupons? Mine does not, therefore not allowing me to save money :(

Alli my main store is Giant... and they do... they just won't take any that say "free" like "buy one get one free" or if the product is totally "free" because they are worried about fraud. Don't you have Shoprite near you? They take like ANYTHING...

As usual your spending habits are admirable!!! I'm proud of you for sticking with the calorie counting and for parking further away to increase your exercise. Way to go!!!

Wow, that is fantastic, Chris. I am so happy for you. Your plan sounds perfect, and obviously is just what you need to do to lose your weight! I have a theory that our bodies have set points (weights that we were comfortable at before and where we stayed for a while) and when we reach those weights we "stall". If we just keep at it, eventually our bodies have no choice but to respond. Keep up the great work. Soon you will be where you want to be.
