Good morning, buddies and everyone else!

Wow. You know, FatSecret really IS amazing.

I woke up to TWO new messages in my inbox. Both from people who popped in to say hi, put a buddy request, and told me that I had given them hope and helped them see that losing weight truly is accomplishable.

I love how losing weight spreads around here.

Back when I started, it took me a while to find out and work the whole buddy system. I started off with the phone app, and it took a while for me to even get to the website. Boy, am I glad I did.

I found buddies that could help me. I found buddies that were inspiring me. I found people able and willing to help out when the going got tough. I became the tough one who kept going.

THAT is where I see the difference between FatSecret and the other websites that essentially offer the same thing. WE have people here who care, who WANTS to help. I love it.

I am SO proud to be able to inspire others to lose the weight they need to lose. I am SO proud when I hear that I helped someone else.

Losing the weight is without comparison the best thing I have ever, ever done for myself. Hands down.

Looking back, and looking at my old "Fat King" pictures, I don't even recognize the guy. Seriously, it's so strange. My 15 year old nephew put a comment on one of my Facebook pictures the other day. It was a picture from when I was 155 kgs (360 lbs). He wrote "This looks weird now. You've become a handsome man". I can't express how much that meant.

So, essentially, I now have a whole life worth of pictures with a guy that I no longer know. How strange is that? I have hundreds of pictures of this fat man kissing my wife. WTF? I need to hunt him down and kick his ass. LOL! Surely, that'll burn a few calories too.

Speaking of calories, I did great yesterday. I had NO NO NO cake at all! I had cherry tomates and a tangerine instead. It was great. And trust me, the cakes and what Wife did was amazing! Everyone at work were ooooh'in and awwwww'ing when they came in and saw the setup. Everyone were also amazed that I could resist, and that I could be thin with Wife doing stuff like that. I think we were both gleaming, honestly.

Now, I did get a little surprise when I got on the scale. I am up a pound. Meh. I know I did good. I even had a few hundred calories left to spend if I wanted to. However, my lunch was lasagna, and as it was a deli one, it could easily contain a lot of salt, and it could easily be a few hundred calories more or less than what I think so I'll just say I reached max RDI. No biggie.

I'm kind of thinking if my evening smoothie affects my weigh-ins? I know they don't really affect my weight loss journey overall, as they are healthy and calculated, but they might affect the day-to-day weigh-in. Meh. It's no biggie. I'm going for an overall weight number, but much more the fatloss than what I am weighing TODAY. As long as I keep doing good, I'm doing good.

I took a look at myself in the mirror last night. Damn. Those 6 weeks or so at the gym REALLY is starting to show. I'm no beefcake, but I can tell that my muscles are getting MUCH more toned. I like it. I can tell I am stronger, more fit, and I feel better. Maybe I should stick to the gym, huh? lol.

Actually, in less than one hour I'll be heading over there. I am essentially waiting for them to open (it's not even 6 am here in Denmark).

I'm leaving work early, as Wife and I are going a few towns over to do some christmas present shopping. We're going to my nephew's birthday party tomorrow, and we can't come empty handed. So off we go. Let's see what the day brings. I am very focused on the fact that we will NOT go eat anywhere bad. I had the day all planned when Wife threw me this curve ball, but I can easily adjust my food plans to accommodate her request. I will skip my 2nd breakfast, or at least some of it, and move a few things around.

Lunch was already planned to be a pita with ham at a local pizza place, so there is no issue in this. I'll just have the same thing in another town. I just wanna make sure that there is wiggle room, so I am prepping ahead.

It'll be fine. :)

How I love being focused on this.

Today I am thankful for:
- Friday!
- Rockin' with the Peanuts!
- Going out with Wife!
- Easy day at work!

Happy Friday, my friends! Life is good!

Aww, what a sweet comment from your nephew! That's awesome. Keep on rocking that gym and work the muscle definition! Woohoo! I think it's somewhat hilarious that you have to wait for the gym to be open. I'm never up early enough to have that problem. :) As far as your initial talk about the new buddies..... I can totally remember when I first came to FS and learned of "THE guy to find" (aka you!!) and started learning about your experience here. It was awesome and inspiring and I'm so glad that you are still here to do the same thing for the new members!! :) Have a great day!

I had to re-look at the date, to make sure I hadn't picked up the wrng journal. Are you super organised, or does Christmas fall in a different month in Denmark LOL.

Nice journal. FS is indeed an amazing place and thanks for your inspiration among the rest. I agree that when you as long as you keep doing good, you are doing good. Maybe it was just looking at that cake. Sometimes it takes me an entire extra day to get my good days to show on the scale. Great job on the exercise, too, Kelf

A proud moment Keld! You didn't eat cake! Yay! Also I couldn't agree with you more about the buddies. I know I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't found this place. LOL about the fat guy kissing your wife. That is priceless! Yes. No worries about the pound. Most likely just a fluctuation due to the salt. Enjoy!

Every time I think about how your journey has inspired mine and so many others, I can't help but hear ol Peter Cetera and Chicago playing 'You're the Inspiration'... You're definitely one for me! It just helps having at my fingertips so many people I can turn to for advice, bounce ideas off, etc. And listening to yours and others' stories has been so great. Can't imagine life before now!! Awesome going, dude, and don't worry, that 1 lb might just be some of the muscle that is now replacing the fat! Keep trucking, friend!

Hearing stuff like that definitely helps you avoid the cake. The progress you made is awesome. I am happy I am getting to see part of your transformation. I totally love lifting weights too! :)
