Was it because you felt you did not want the fat or because you could not think where it would fit in?

No, I wanted the fat, but I couldn't figure out where to get it from. I was going to drink a spoonful of MCT before bed, but I was afraid I would get sick at my stomach. Oh well, I'm starting out the morning with coffee, MCT, cream, and a Sprinkle of cinnamon. 99% fat right now. LOL. Good way to start the day. Bulletproof Coffee.

I do not do MCT but I would start slow with it. You can add butter, eat egg yolks, use salad dressings or dips. Have avocado or cheese.

Olive oil is great. I eat a lot fat. Unlike many people here and elsewhere I never dieted cutting calories so I never developed any aversion to it. So if you want more fat advice I may be your gal LOL. Do what you can, one step at the time

MCT may assist in getting into ketosis, but probably won't help with weight loss; reason is, it can't be stored so gets used ahead of other fats. During weight loss in keto, it's OK to eat somewhat lower fat percentage, because you want to consume your stored body fat. The chart in "Mistake #4" in this article explains the concept: https://blog.virtahealth.com/top-keto-mistakes/

You are losing weight so fast, you should be teaching us what you're doing so successfully!

As long as that arrow is consistently facing downward you are on the right road.

I'm a very detailed person. If you ask me a question I will write a book to give you the answer. LOL kids say just get to the point cut to the chase. So, if you wanted to know how did I get to this place it was a process. I have tried keto for several years without really getting a grip and understanding of macros and the why behind it. And I wasn't sure about calories. So any time I use the app to figure out macros it would always give me 1400 calories per day. If I had that much to eat I would be packing on the pounds. (Con't)

Part 2 of first comment. So I talk to my doctor about the HCG diet and she said it would not work for me because I sit all day and I take a lot of medications. And I know it's 500 calories a day. So I thought okay I'll do 500 calories a day on my own and figure the macros based on a 800 calorie a day diet. So I took the 800 calories and did the percentages based on that for my macros. Then I just watched and got my fats primarily from the protein and if I was short I would just take olive oil or MCT or butter or some fat. By keeping my calories low under 800 a day it has helped me to lose a pound every couple days. My goal is to lose this weight or most of it by Christmas. I have to totally stay away from sugar and totally way from starch and just eat small amounts of eggs or meat some kind of protein and fat and that's how I do it

That is a wonderful goal but might be just a little ambitious, I wouldn’t want you to feel like you failed if you didn’t quite reach it. How about a goal of consistently keeping the arrow pointed downward and building good dietary and nutritional habits that will carry you into the future. How is your overall nutrition doing? Do you feel that you are getting all the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function properly and stay healthy on your 800 cal. Program. I’m rooting for you to have great success and stay healthy.

Kenna, thanks for the support. I won't feel like a failure if I don't make it. I like to set high goals so that I stretch myself. The doctor told me to eat High dense food. Like spinach, broccoli, any greens, asparagus, 3 oz of protein per meal. Even dr. Berg says that. Also we have a green powder drink did I'm going to start on I haven't done yet. I have so many vitamins and powders and collagen.Ok I do intermittent fasting as well. So I might eat this way for a few days and then skip a day or two if I need a little bit more. It just seems like I put on weight if I eat too many calories or too many carbs. It's all just a test. I'll see how I do. If I come crying just slap me up the face.

You can totally do this.!

skinnyminilinny, the calorie calculators give me too high numbers unless I use "sedentary", even though I'm not. 800 cals seems awfully low - is that your every day calorie allowance? . . . that works with HCG because the hormone stimulates your body to use its own fat. Keto / low carb does that too, but a different metabolic pathway.

gz9gig yes I try and stay below 800 calories per day because I am so sedentary. I've had so many health issues the last 2 and 1/2 years that the doctors have made me basically sit in my chair with my legs elevated. I'm finally at the end of that except two months ago I fractured my back and have been told by the doctor after surgery to sit still and don't bend or lift or twist. Doing Keto, I have a breakfast that is very healthy everyday and I never get hungry till about 4 in the afternoon. My husband cooks for me because I haven't been able to stand for so long that I can only stand for 2 minutes. So he will make dinner and help me stay Keto. That keeps me until bedtime. If I feel hungry at anytime I just have a little snack and I make sure it's Keto. I see my doctor today and they monitor everything that I do.

skinnyminilinny - good luck with the diet and good health too! I love been doing the keto WOE for 18 months, but I don't lose weight on it anymore.

GZ9gjg, I do not claim to know or understand keto that well. I have tried many times over the years to get into ketosis and understand the macros and how to do it, but it just never registered in my brain. I didn't know how to figure the percentages of the carbs protein and fat. It's taken me a while just to get that part figured out. I was really frustrated and remember years ago after my last child was born I did a calorie diet with a group of ladies at church. At that time I stayed under 800 calories just to see if I could lose any weight. I was very active then because I had five kids, so when I restricted my calories I just lost weight like buckets. And I did not understand keto at all. I didn't know about carbs or protein or fat. So now trying keto and not understanding I thought okay I'll just do the 800 calories again and see if I can do it. So I've been sitting in a chair for so long that I knew I was sedentary but I also knew that if I restricted the amount of calories going in if I was in a deficit then that would automatically make me lose weight. So that's what I did.

I am very committed to making sure I get my vitamins and minerals. I just drank some green drink from Amazing Grass. It was the lemon lime. That is full of nutrients. We've been buying all kinds of powders and proteins and vitamins and minerals for years and eating organic vegetables and clean meat. We even had our own chickens and turkey and eggs. We knew what we were eating. My health issues were not from a nutrition problem. They started as an autoimmune disease caused by stress years ago and that has created issues in my body that I have had to work hard to overcome. My legs were affected 2 years ago when they were traumatized by jumping out of a truck. I'm a 67 year old lady. Lol. I had no business up in that truck, I just don't realize in my head how old I am. LOL anyway I'm overcoming. And I'm over coming this week problem. I've been on steroids for years which caused me to balloon out. Slowly trying to get off that too.

Keep up the good work but I am really glad you are under a doctor’s supervision.

Skinnyminilinny, I wasn't intending to be unsupportive - sorry if I came off that way.
